The FBI has located human remains in the wreckage of the Horizon Air plane that crashed Friday after it was stolen and flown by an airport worker."While the focus of our investigation thus far has centered on Richard Russell, 29, of Sumner, Washington, the FBI is awaiting the results of a review by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office," FBI Seattle said in a statement.Authorities said Russell took off in the stolen plane at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Friday night, flew for about an hour with military jets chasing him and crashed the 76-seater on a heavily wooded island. The flight data recorder and components of the cockpit voice recorder have been recovered and are with the National Transportation Safety Board, according to the FBI. 770

The FBI issued a warning on Wednesday alerting Americans to scammers using the coronavirus to solicit donations for fraudulent charities.Federal law enforcement officials say they have received reports that scammers are using the pandemic to steal money, personal information or both. The FBI says that often, the fraudsters will use the name of a real charity to conduct their scam. The FBI adds that criminals may spoof their caller ID number to make it appear the call originated from a legitimate charity.“Be careful,” the FBI said. The FBI offered the following advice to Americans:The best way to protect yourself is by doing your research. Here are some tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of a charity fraud:Do your homework when it comes to donations, whether you’re donating through charities, social media, or crowdfunding websites.Look for online reviews of charity organizations or use information from your state’s regulator of charities or from websites like the Better Business Bureau, give.org, charitynavigator.org, or charitywatch.org to check on the legitimacy of charitable organizations. Before donating, ask how much of the donation will go toward the program or cause you want to support. Every organization has administrative costs, and it’s important to understand those structures.Never pay by gift card or wire transfer. Credit cards are safer. After making a donation, be sure to review your financial accounts to ensure additional funds are not deducted or charged.Always do your research before clicking on links purporting to provide information on the virus, purchasing COVID-related products online, or providing your personal information in order to receive money or other benefits. 1724

The Dallas Police Department said on Tuesday evening that two of its officers and a civilian loss prevention officer were shot at a Dallas Home Depot. The Dallas Police confirmed earlier in the evening that the two officer were in critical condition. Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall said late Tuesday evening that all three victims are out of surgery in a Dallas hospital. "We're asking for your continued prayers for them and their families," Hall said. The shooting reportedly took place around 4:11 p.m. local time.  In a press conference, police identified Armando Juarez, 29, as a person of interest. He is believed to have left the incident driving a white pickup truck. Around 9 p.m. local time, Juarez was arrested after a car pursuit involving Dallas Police and a white pickup truck.Hall said that Juarez will be charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, and also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. A female passenger in Juarez's truck was also detained after the chase, Hall said. In 2016, Dallas experienced one of the deadliest ambushes on law enforcement in recent US history, as five officers were shot and killed while patrolling a Black Lives Matter protest.  1285
