BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- China gave awards to outstanding domestic and foreign scientists Friday, amid a government campaign encouraging innovation and more sophisticated industry.
Entrusted with a crucial role, discipline inspectors found and provided clues to more than half of all major corruption cases handled by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) since the anti-corruption drive was intensified after the 18th CPC National Congress in late 2012.
The remarks by Wang Qishan, secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, were carried in a statement released Thursday after he presided over several symposiums in preparation for the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection next week.
Jin Liqun made the remarks in a speech at a press conference after the conclusion of the two-day inaugural meeting of the AIIB's board of governors on Sunday, which approved by-laws, rules and codes of conduct for the bank.
In a separate clause, Sunday's new bill allows police forces, when facing violent attackers with guns or knives, use weapons directly in emergency circumstances.
