The iconic 90s show has teased a reunion for years, and it might be coming together soon.David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller on the NBC comedy, told Jimmy Fallon the Friends are trying to get together in August.“It’s supposed to happen maybe in August, beginning of August. But honestly we’re going to wait and see another week or two to determine if it’s really safe,” Schwimmer said, adding they will wait if it’s not safe yet to get together.A Friends special has been anticipated by fans for years, and confirmed finally by HBO Max in February. Filming was put on pause because of the coronavirus pandemic.“It’s unscripted, it’s basically a really fun interview and some other surprise bits,” Schwimmer said of the special.During the interview with Fallon on The Tonight Show, Schwimmer recounted how he almost didn’t take the role of Ross. It is only 9 in the morning, but the sun in Little Rock, Arkansas is beating down on the pavement as it does this time of the year.It is uncomfortably muggy, so 78-year-old Elizabeth Eckford elects to walk in the shadows of the trees that line Central High School.It is a place she’s grown comfortable with over the course of the last 50 years as she’s remained mostly silent about her experiences as a student at the school.“Talking about the past is a walk through pain,” she said. “It was very, very difficult. I had felt so terribly, terribly, terribly, alone,”Elizabeth was one of the nine black students sent to attend the all-white school on the first day of desegregation in 1957, the resulting reaction of the town has become known as the Little Rock Crisis.Many might recognize Elizabeth’s picture taken by a news photographer that day."At one point [the mob of white students] said get a rope, as I was walking, let’s lynch her,” Eckford recalls. "It was a very frightening, a very threatening time.”Elizabeth endured the harassment until she reached the doors of the high school, but was turned away by National Guardsmen. Alone, she remembers wondering what to do next as she walked over to a bus bench a block from the school.“I remember that bus bench meant safety to me,” Eckford recalls. "There was a pack of reporters and photographers in front of me walking backwards and asking me questions. I didn’t say anything because I was afraid if I opened my mouth I would cry in public.”Over the course of the next 50 years the words that berated Elizabeth manifested into PTSD. The school, that picture, crowded hallways; they would all elicit panic and anxiety. It wasn’t until 1997, when Elizabeth began sharing her story with students at Central High School that she started to heal.“They were very patient with me,” she said. "When I would cry they waited and gave me a chance to resume. It meant that to them I was a human being.”Today, Elizabeth Eckford speaks at national conventions and remembrance events of that first day of desegregation. She says walks by the school and crowded hallways no longer elicit anxiety.She also remains modest in her triumph and dedicated in her pursuit to help others."I point out that [students] can just reach out to support someone who is being harassed,” she said. "Just treat that person in a way that you would want to be treated. That can be very powerful. It was very powerful for me." 2454

It’s the news glioblastoma patients in St. Lucie County feared they’d hear: There are more cases than they knew of.This week Scripps station WPTV in West Palm Beach, Florida reported on 11 glioblastoma cases in the Fort Pierce-area, discovered through word of mouth from the patients and their families.For two days, more people wrote to WPTV, telling us about other people they know with the disease, which affects just 13,000 people each year in the U.S.When WPTV broadened the focus area to include all of St. Lucie County, our number now increased to roughly 30 cases over the last five years. Several more cases date with the few years previous to that.The Florida Department of Health confirms it is monitoring their concerns and considering how to move forward.The Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County has also met with some of the Glioblastoma patients and families.Patients like Kevin Perry say they never anything about the disease.“You hear about cancer all the time, but Glioblastoma? No,” Perry said.He was diagnosed in 2016 shortly after he had a seizure.“Some days you feel like you’re brand new. Other days you feel like its all over you,” Perry said.Perry’s wife, Ronna, is among the now dozens of local families wanting to know if their cases warrant a bigger investigation.I would like to know if there’s something going on. Or, is it just getting more prevalent.”Thursday, when WPTV’s glioblastoma count was around 13, we spoke with Dr. Chaim Colen, a neurosurgeon who has treated some of the local patients.“It’s definitely high. Is that a coincidence? INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis woman was finally able to thank the Ohio family whose son's heart has beat in her chest for over a decade. Matthew Boylen died 11 years ago in a car accident in Ohio. His donated heart continues to beat in Indianapolis resident Lucy Boenitz.On Saturday, Boenitz met Boylen's family for the first time. You can watch the emotional reunion in the video player above.  425

It kind of feels like a concert, but there’s no musical performance. It’s former First Lady Michelle Obama, having a conversation with tens of thousands of people during her “Becoming” tour stop in Denver.  “This has been an amazing day being here with all of you,” Obama says.  The event, however, was just one part of the time she spent in the community. Just hours earlier, Emma Jones and her mom were among the hundreds of patients and families who packed the lobby of Children’s Hospital Colorado for the surprise visit.After a warm welcome, Obama sat down with Santa to read a book and answer questions from her young audience members.  “Was there really a movie theater in the White House?” asked one child.  Other questions were more serious, including one that asked Obama what advice she’d give to her younger self.“Don't let fear stop you from doing things that will help you grow,” she replied.  “Just being at the hospital and like knowing that something is going on with you in the first place, it's kind of scary,” says patient Emma Jones. “But like just hearing that message from someone who cares a lot about everybody is just super empowering and like it was just really cool.”Following the hospital stop, Obama signed copies of her book at a local bookstore.   With eight tour stops so far, all of them include some form of giving back to young people. In Detroit, Obama surprised a group of college students, sitting in on a discussion on education. In Boston, she made a stop at a Boys and Girls Club, and in Los Angeles, she read books to preschoolers.  It's a reflection of what Obama says is closest to her heart.  “I love kids.
