(KGTV) — A crash victim is hoping to track down the roadside "angel" who went above and beyond.On Friday afternoon just east of the I-15 on Old Castle Road in Valley Center, Sarah Rozenko says she was in her Volvo sedan, driving back from the grocery store and squarely in her lane. "It was like being hit with a dump truck full force," said Rozenko.It wasn't a dump truck, but a car, that hit the side of her car. It sent her spinning into a rocky embankment. She climbed out, bruised and dazed."She came out of nowhere and pulled up," said Rozenko.'She' was a passerby who told Rozenko she was an EMT. The woman, believed in her 40s or 50s, can be seen her in a photo snapped by Rozenko of the crash scene."Immediately took over calming me down, checking me out. Took over phone conversation with 9-1-1, as I was so shook up. She covered me with a blanket," said Rozenko.Rozeno says in her shock, she kept telling the woman about the surprise dinner she had planned for her husband. The stranger listened, and calmed her down."Just reassuring. I believe I would have had a panic attack had she not been there," said Rozenko.About 15 minutes after the stranger arrived, so did the firefighters and paramedics. There was a hurried exchange. "She yelled, 'What's your address?' as I am being loaded into the ambulance. I shouted it to her," said Rozenko.Some nine hours later, after Rozenko returned home from the hospital, she learned the mystery woman had collected her belongings from the car - along with all the groceries - and dropped it all off at her home with her landlord. "I was blown away. It's not every day that somebody goes out of their way to do something for you. She's my road accident angel for sure," said Rozenko.Now she's on a mission to find her angel."I really want to thank you thank you, thank you, thank you. TULSA, Okla. — An Oklahoma woman has faced terrifying health scares over the last year from a tick bite. Nancy Phelps' tongue and face have swollen up many times. She has also spent countless hours in the hospital because she could not breathe. She learned it is all because she was bit by a Lonestar Tick while she was playing with her grandkids in her yard in the spring of 2017."They fall off trees," Phelps said. "They're out in the grass." She started seeing symptoms lke rashes and having stomach problems early on. Phelps thought it was random.Then in the fall, she started going into anaphylactic shock, meaning she could not breathe because of an allergic reaction. "Within about a week time, I was in the emergency room with anaphylaxis eight different times," Phelps said. Several doctors later, Phelps learned that tick bite gave her the Alpha Gal Allergy. It causes an allergic reaction to all mammal-based products."They could feed on an infected animal, get a parasite that then when they feed on a human that human could be infected," said Luisa Krug, the epidemiology supervisor for the Tulsa County Health Department. The CDC said this week that diseases caused by infected ticks, fleas and mosquitoes have tripled in the last 13 years. More than 640,000 cases have been reported. When Phelps consumes mammal bi-products or is around them, she has a severe allergic reaction. Her face and tongue start swelling up. She said she has to inject herself with an Epi-Pen once every one to two weeks. "Anything boxed, in cans, anything you would typically buy off the shelf," Phelps listed what she cannot eat. "Pizza...I didn't realize I liked pizza so much, but those kinds of things are non-existent anymore."Her allergy is so bad that she even has to worry about cross-contamination. Phelp said she bought all new pots for her home. Eating out is nearly impossible now. She has to show restaurants a document she keeps on her phone that lists what she can and cannot consume. Phelps can no longer take gel cap pills, because they are made with animal bi-products. Make up, toiletries, laundry and dishwashing soaps and certain clothing are also a problem.Phelps wants others to take note of her story and take serious precautions. "It's avoidance and being aware of our surroundings," Phelps said.The health department suggests wearing long sleeves and pants outside to avoid being bitten by bugs. Two people have been killed in an explosion at a Veteran's Affair hospital in Connecticut, according to WTNH-TV and The New Haven Register.A VA spokesperson told WTNH that the explosion at the West Haven hospital was caused by a steam valve. The explosion occurred in a building that was not housing patients. Those who were killed were not patients at the hospital.According to The Associated Press, state and federal investigators are responding to the incident. State police also said they would send a fire and explosion investigation unit."We received a report this morning that an explosion occurred at the West Haven campus of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System that resulted in two deaths in a non-patient care area,” VA Secretary Robert Wilkie said in a statement.This story is breaking and will be updated. 826
