SAN DIEGO — Business owners across San Diego County are readying to push back against a potential new round of Coronavirus restrictions.The county could reach the state’s most restrictive purple tier on Tuesday, meaning restaurants, gyms, nail salons and estheticians would all have to stop indoor service.Business owners are now calling this a fight for survival.“We’ve been in the red since March, so the bleeding’s got to stop somewhere,” said Ben Clevenger, who owns Lakeside’s Eastbound Bar and Grill.Clevenger has reduced his staff from 45 to about 15, and he’s now taking shifts running food and cooking in the kitchen. It’s the only way the restaurant can survive amid social distancing restrictions inside, and 100 degree weather outside.“Never do I mind getting my hands dirty, but I would much rather have an employee doing it because it’s money in their pocket,” Clevenger said.The county is on track to move into the state’s most restrictive tier of coronavirus restrictions on Tuesday - largely because of an increase in cases at San Diego State University.On Monday, the county Board of Supervisors will meet behind closed doors to decide whether to take action against the state. SAN DIEGO (CNS & KGTV) -  Police believe a woman who crashed her car into a home in Talmadge  was intoxicated at the time.The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on Winona Avenue near Lucille Drive, according to San Diego police.A 23-year-old woman was driving her 2017 Honda on Winona Avenue at a high speed when she veered off the road and ran into the corner of a nearby home, according to San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims. The woman suffered serious head injuries and fractures to her right leg, and had to be taken to a hospital.No one in the home was injured.Police processed the driver for allegedly driving under the influence, Heims said.A building engineer was called in to assess structure damage, and the Red Cross helped with two residents displaced by the crash, San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesman Jose Ysea said. 880

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A fire that erupted in the attic of a Rancho Penasquitos home early Monday displaced seven residents, but nobody was hurt.The blaze was reported shortly after 12:45 a.m. at the two-story house in the 8400 block of Corte Fragata, off Carmel Mountain Road north of state Route 56, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.One person in the home told dispatchers the residents smelled smoke and saw smoke coming from the attic, SDFRD spokeswoman Monica Munoz said. Crews knocked down the fire within 25 minutes and kept the flames contained to the attic area, but the house sustained smoke damage, she said.The American Red Cross was called in to help the displaced residents -- four adults and three children -- arrange for temporary lodging.The cause of the fire was under investigation. 821
