BEIJING, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- China has reported spikes in electricity demand amid steady economic recovery and lower temperatures since December, according to China's economic planner on Thursday.
Noting that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic ties, Li said China is willing to take this as an opportunity to step up all-around pragmatic cooperation, focus on the joint fight against COVID-19, and promote the comprehensive strategic partnership of the two countries.
China is ready to work with ASEAN to build a closer community with a shared future between the two sides, he added.
President Xi said the two sides also need to strengthen cooperation against COVID-19 and enhance capacity building in public health.
Stressing the need to deepen cooperation on the digital economy, Xi said China and ASEAN could create more highlights of cooperation in such areas as smart cities, 5G, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, big data, blockchain and telemedicine, and strengthen the protection of data security and policy communication and coordination.
