FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Lehigh Acres, Florida man is facing two counts of child neglect after police say he left two young children alone in a vehicle while he went into a strip club.23-year-old Willie Lee Jordan, Jr. was arrested Thursday night outside of Scarlett's Cabaret in Fort Myers.According to Fort Myers Police, the children were found crying in the back seat of an SUV by a citizen around 11 p.m.  Police were called to the scene, and arrived to find the citizen, two security personnel, and the children outside the vehicle.The SUV 's windows were open about two inches while the children were alone inside.  The good Samaritans were able to instruct the older child to unlock the doors to get out.Staff inside the club made an announcement in an effort to locate the caretaker of the children. That's when Jordan exited the club and was greeted by police.Jordan told officers that he was only inside for one minute, but police had already been on scene for several minutes by that point.Club staff told police Jordan had been at the club earlier that evening but was turned away for a dress code violation. He later returned properly dressed, and was inside the club for about 20 minutes without checking on the children.Jordan was arrested and released Friday on ,000 bond. 1321

Firefighters in western Colorado hope a winter storm could spell relief from a rash of wildfires that have spread throughout the state this week. But between now and Saturday evening, firefighters will face more warm temperatures and gusty weather, which could fuel the spread of the six major wildfires.Between Wednesday evening and Thursday evening, the East Troublesome Fire exploded in size from 20,000 acres to 170,000 acres — the second-largest in state history.A cold front slowed the spread of that fire on Thursday evening, but hundreds of evacuations remain in place in Grand and Larimer Counties. Rocky Mountain National Park also remains closed due to its proximity to the fire.As of 10:30 a.m. ET, the fire was burning 170,163 acres and was only 5% contained. It's just the latest in a historic wildfire season in the state that has seen the state's four largest wildfires of all time.The East Troublesome Fire is confirmed to have caused "minor" injuries to one firefighter thus far.After a slight warmup early Saturday, another cold front will dip into Colorado that evening and into Sunday morning, bringing a projected five inches of snow to much of the Denver metro area and higher amounts to the west and northwest.While heavy snowfall in the north-central mountains isn't guaranteed to put an end to the East Troublesome, Cameron Peak, Calwood, Lefthand Canyon, Middle and Williams Fork fires, the precipitation will surely give firefighters a spell of relief and allow crews to fight the fires more directly.Before Saturday's cold front, though, crews face more warm, dry weather in the mountains and gusty conditions ahead of the front. Florida Panhandle officials are trying to figure out how to resume classes after Hurricane Michael damaged or destroyed many schools last week.Schools in at least eight counties -- Washington, Liberty, Jackson, Gulf, Gadsden, Franklin, Calhoun and Bay -- will remain closed until further notice, the office of Gov. Rick Scott said Monday in a news release.The challenge is especially daunting in Bay County."I would say every single school in Bay County has some type of damage, some more extensive than others," said Steve Moss, vice chairman of Bay District School Board. "Some it'll probably take weeks or months to get online. Some it will take years."The only thing left of some of our schools ... is the foundation."Moss said he and his colleagues are working to come up with a plan to get thousands of students back in the classroom as soon as possible."We basically have 26,000 students here in Bay County," he said. "They still need educational services. They still need to learn."High school seniors have been told they will be able to graduate, Moss said. Younger students won't be held back from the next grade."Now, to be able to do that, they have to been in a classroom setting," according to state law, Moss said, with the wreckage of Jinks Middle School's gymnasium in Panama City, Florida, behind him.It was just renovated last month, with a new floor and lighting, Moss said.
