SOLANA BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) - Signs warning beachgoers about the presence of a shark off North San Diego County remained in position Monday after a new sighting. A shark between four and six feet was spotted Monday morning off the coast of Solana Beach, lifeguards confirmed. Shark experts from CSU Long Beach were in the area and reported seeing four baby white sharks.Advisory signs about an aggressive shark were posted last week after a sea lion washed ashore with its tail missing. The sea lion was taken to SeaWorld for care but later died of its injuries.10News is monitoring developments in this story. 618

(KGTV) - The Solana Beach City Council is the latest local government body to take up the gun control debate in the wake of recent mass shootings.On Wednesday night, the council passed Resolution 2018-036, which calls upon California Congressmen and women to pass gun safety regulations.Included in the resolution is official opposition to the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, currently making its way through Congress.That bill would force states to honor Concealed Carry Permits from other states, regardless of how strict or relaxed each state's regulations are.Other parts of the Solana Beach resolution call for:- Raising the minimum age to buy a gun to 21- Banning the sale of military-style semiautomatic and automatic weapons- Banning the sale of high capacity magazines that hold more than 10 cartridges- Universal background checks- Mandatory safety training before buying a gun- A 10-day waiting period before taking possession of a gunYou can read the full text of the resolution here.The resolution makes Solana Beach the second city council in San Diego County to take up the issue. SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A San Diego County Sheriff’s deputy was injured Monday following a crash in Spring Valley. According to the department, the crash happened near the intersection of Bancroft Drive and Kenwood Drive at 8:23 a.m. The deputy was responding with his lights on to reports of a stolen vehicle when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash. The deputy was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the department said. The details on what led to the crash wasn’t specified by the department. 538

Severe weather brought heavy rain, hail and flash flooding to some parts of Maryland.  In Frederick, flood water was so high Tuesday night it covered the tires on cars. Some residents say Market Street was so flooded it looked like a river. Police sent alerts asking residents not to drive on the roads. Emergency crews rescued six people from three vehicles trapped in floodwater.  Click below to see storm pictures from across the state:Businesses in Frederick were also impacted by the storm. The basement of the YMCA on N. Market Street was completely flooded. The first floor had about four to five inches of water. Emergency crews pumped water from inside of the building to help drain it. The YMCA will be closed Wednesday.  So far, no injuries have been reported.   941
