SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An SUV struck and killed a 63-year-old woman as she was crossing a street in the Talmadge area, police said Tuesday.It happened around 5 p.m. Monday in the 4600 block of El Cajon Boulevard, between 46th and 47th streets, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.A 79-year-old man was driving a 2008 Lexus SUV westbound on El Cajon Boulevard near Menlo Avenue when he struck the pedestrian as she was attempting to cross El Cajon Boulevard southbound outside a crosswalk, Buttle said.The woman was trapped under the SUV before crews freed her and took her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the officer said. The victim's name was withheld pending family notification.The SUV driver remained at the scene and intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the crash, Buttle said. 824

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man who allegedly posed as a maintenance worker in order to burglarize residences across San Diego County was charged Thursday with burglary and other felonies that could have him facing more than 300 years in prison.Corey Henson, 45, is suspected in burglaries in San Diego, La Mesa, El Cajon, Vista and San Ysidro that occurred between August of last year and this February.Deputy District Attorney Daniel Shim said Henson could face 339 years and four months to life if convicted of all counts, due to numerous prior convictions, which include burglary and assault with a deadly weapon. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A parolee who allegedly stabbed a pair of transients -- one fatally -- in two separate Midway District attacks on Thanksgiving Day was charged Friday with murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
