(KGTV) — The body of a man was discovered floating in the water just north of the U.S.-Mexico border near Border Field State Park Friday.San Diego Sheriff's deputies were called in to assist Border Patrol officers just before 5:30 p.m. after the discovery. Border Patrol agents pulled the man to shore where San Diego Fire Department crews responded to provide life-saving measures.The man was pronounced dead at the scene. (KGTV) -- The city of Imperial Beach voted to create a committee to take a look at their contract with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the department’s use of force policies. During a city council meeting Wednesday night, the council also passed a Black Lives Matter proclamation.The committee will be tasked with looking to see if there are any necessary changes that should or could potentially be made when it comes to spending, looking at the possibility of redirecting funds to other community services. The council agreed that this committee should also make sure the sheriff’s department can still ensure public safety.The vote also came with the condition that the city will hire a consultant to advise them and help with the review.The council agreed to come back with their findings and any recommended changes in 90 days. 877

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) — The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner, Kevin McAleenan, was nearly clobbered with a large rock Friday night.According to CBP, McAleenan was taking a tour of the border defenses added to the wall along Friendship Park.
