It's the first of its kind, replicating a 1950's town with storefronts and interactive activities.The nonprofit George G. Glenner Alzheimer's Family Centers is behind the new facility, called Glenner Town Square.The indoor, simulated urban environment uses reminiscence therapy to help those with Alzheimer's and dementia, bringing people back to a time where their memories are strongest.Glenner Center's Lisa Tyburski says while the memories experienced at the center don't last forever, they bring patients joy in the moment."They'll leave tired, they'll have had a good day," said Tyburski. CHICANO PARK (KGTV) -- A man was rushed to the hospital after being shot near Chicano Park Friday night, San Diego police said.A caller reported the man shot near Chicano Park on National Avenue and Dewey Street at 9:49 p.m. San Diego Police say officers arrived to find a large group gathered in a parking lot and a silver sedan trying to leave.The group fled, including the occupants of the silver sedan. Officers discovered a 15-year-old Hispanic male in the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.Officers started CPR on the teen before first responders arrived to take him to a nearby hospital. The teen died at the hospital, police said.Police say the teen has been identified but his name was not being released.San Diego police said the incident is being investigated as a homicide. According to police, the single-car crash happened on the 100 block of Telegraph Canyon Road just after 3:45 a.m. Chula Vista Police say a man was driving along the road when he veered to the left and struck two trees in the center median, causing major damage to the vehicle. RELATED: Fire breaks out inside San Diego shopping centerWhen officers arrived on scene, the vehicle was reportedly on fire with the man trapped inside. The driver was taken to the hospital with major injuries where he later died.
