The Congressional Budget Office said Monday that the U.S. economy could be .7 trillion smaller over the next decade than it otherwise would have been if Congress does not mitigate the economic damage from the coronavirus.The CBO, which had already issued a report forecasting a severe economic impact over the next two years, expanded that forecast to show that the severity of the economic shock could depress growth for far longer.The new estimate said that over the 2020-2030 period, total GDP output could be .7 trillion lower than CBO had been projecting as recently as January. The Cherokee Nation has named an official representative to Congress for the first time.Kimberly Teehee, executive director of government relations for the Cherokee Nation, was approved by the Council of the Cherokee Nation as a delegate to the US House of Representatives on Thursday, fulfilling a promise made to the tribe in a nearly 200-year-old treaty with the federal government.A former senior policy adviser for Native American Affairs during President Barack Obama's administration, she was nominated by Chuck Hoskin Jr., chief principal of the Cherokee Nation. She is also a former senior adviser to the US House Native American Caucus Co-Chair former Rep. Dale Kildee and has held various positions within the Cherokee Nation.The treaty doesn't specify if Teehee would be a voting member of the legislature, and her appointment requires congressional approval. The Justice Department may bring additional hacking charges against Paige Thompson, the former engineer accused of downloading more than 100 million Capital One customers' personal information."The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are a possibility," Emily Langlie, communications director for the US Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington, told CNN by email.Thompson, 33, allegedly hacked Capital One, posted the tools she used to do so to Github, and talked about it with friends online, according to a complaint against her filed Monday.The complaint also references a Slack channel and says she posted there under the name "erratic." The channel, called netcrave, was deleted early Tuesday afternoon, but CNN was able to view erratic's posts on it hours before.While the indictment lists the channel only as "Net*****," CNN was able to confirm the full name of "netcrave" by comparing quotes listed in the indictment with those that were live in the netcrave channel.In one Slack conversation on June 27, erratic pasted a long list of compressed filenames and their sizes, indicating they were caches of hacked files. Many were listed as being dozens of gigabytes, indicating a huge mass of files.Not all of the filenames in the list made it obvious from where they were supposedly hacked, but erratic discussed some of them in the Slack. One of the files, which was listed at 28 GB of data, was "capitol one," erratic wrote later in the chat. Another site erratic listed as being the "ohio.gov dept of transportation." The man behind the American pastime of paint-by-numbers pictures died on April 1 at the age of 93, according to his son. Dan Robbins created the first pictures and helped popularize paint-by-numbers kits in the 1950s.Robbins' son, Larry, said his dad was working as a package designer for the Palmer Paint Company in Detroit when he came up with the idea for paint-by-numbers in the late 1940s. He worked there as a graphic artist and sold children's paint that was washable.The idea for paint-by-numbers started when Robbins' boss asked him to come up with an item that could be geared towards adults. Robbins got inspiration for the product from Leonardo da Vinci. The famous artist would hand out numbered designs to apprentices. Robbins took that concept and evolved it into paint-by-numbers.Robbins' work had a significant impact on the pop culture of the 1950s and '60s, since post-World War II Americans found themselves with leisure time to pursue hobbies and activities such as painting."Dad was a very, very modest person. He would never bring up his career. If someone asked him, he'd explain," Larry Robbins said. "Dad was into the accomplishment of providing ... for people like me who can't draw a stick man, to be able to paint and the experiencing of creating a nice piece of art work."Before computers were involved, the artists creating the pictures had to paint the image and then use a piece of acetate or clear plastic over the original to create the areas for each number.
