SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- San Diego Fire-Rescue is on scene of a brush fire burning in San Ysidro Monday afternoon. According to department spokeswoman Mónica Mu?oz, the fire sparked near State Route 905 west and Caliente Avenue in an area near San Ysidro High School. The fire burned about one and a half acres before the forward rate of spread was stopped. No structures were threatened and no one was injured, according to Mu?oz.Three San Diego Fire-Rescue engines and two federal fire brush engines and a helicopter team responded to the blaze. (KGTV) -- A woman who escaped from the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee in early April pleaded not guilty Monday. 22-year-old Destiny Guns pleaded not guilty to six charges related to the escape. Guns was the first woman ever to escape from the Santee Jail, deputies say. Guns reportedly climbed over several fences and walls during the escape. Her clothes were found in an open field near the jail and police dogs traced her to the back of a shopping center before losing her trail. SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman is on high alert after she says a six-foot-long rattlesnake nearly attacked her dog Friday.20-year-old Willow Godshalk-Gross says she let her small dog out just before 10 a.m. Friday on the 7100 block of Mariposa Street.According to the 20-year-old, the dog started running around when Willow noticed a snake. She quickly grabbed the dog and started running back inside.Firefighters responded and found the massive red diamond rattlesnake cozying up net to some rocks near a fence line.A firefighter was able to safely remove the snake with tongs. Crews say this rattlesnake is the largest they’ve ever seen.After being fed and taken care of by a 3rd party, the snake will be released into the wild. 755
