KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There is no rule book when it comes to COVID-19, with endless questions still surrounding the potentially deadly virus. One big question that many are now asking: If you've already had the virus, should you get the vaccine when it becomes available? "Certainly right now, it's looking like they are going to recommend people that have had COVID to go ahead and get the vaccine when it's available to them, based either on their job or on their other health conditions," said Dr. Sarah Boyd, infectious diseases physician at Saint Luke's Health System.Boyd said it is important for everyone to get the vaccine, even those who already have had COVID-19."We know the majority of people that are at about 90 days, but there are some that probably longer," Boyd said. "Over the next few months, there will be information I am sure coming out about the natural course of immunity and if at some point you are at risk to get reinfection."Amanda Finley tested positive for the coronavirus twice and wants to get the vaccine as soon as she can."For me, I haven't had adverse reactions before, but the only way to know if it is going to affect long-haulers is if we try it," Finley said. "I just don't feel right saying, 'oh, somebody goes try it for me.' I will gladly do it. I will be first in line."She runs a Facebook group for COVID long-haulers.Some of the members in the group are excited about the vaccine, while others are nervous about it. But Finley said a big reason why she will get the virus is a simple one."Because I definitely do not want to get this again," Finley said. "It affects every system in the body. It's not just a respiratory disease, that is just how we found it. It affects your cardiovascular system, it affects your brain, it affects your muscles. KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A woman was shot and killed about 3:30 Saturday morning in Kansas City, Missouri. Police responded to an ambulance call and discovered a woman shot. Kindrea Brown, 24 was found shot to death in her own bed.Janet Brown says she heard gunfire late Friday night but went to bed shortly thereafter. She had no idea that her youngest daughter, who was asleep in her bed, had been shot."I heard gunshots. That's all I heard. We checked and laid back down." said Brown.Brown went to her daughter's room Saturday morning to wake her up for work. "I get her up every morning and mess with her before she goes to work. I went back to wake her up and she didn't wake up. I couldn't get her up. She didn't respond to me anymore." said Brown.No other information has been released. (KGTV) — City crews have started emergency repairs to an unstable cave located underneath a busy La Jolla street.Coast Blvd. was closed late Thursday after experts found weaknesses in Cook's Crack, a sea cave underneath Coast Blvd. near Cave St."We're starting to see above ... the looser, weaker material. That's a trigger right off the bat that, 'Oh my God, we don't have the beefy rock bridging across anymore. So that's what got out attention," said James Nagelvoort, city public works director.RELATED: La Jolla streets closed for emergency stabilization of Cook's Crack caveThe discovery came as crews prepared to repair Coast Blvd. Assessors discovered that if too much weight is above the cave or heavy seismic vibrations hit the area, the road could collapse, according to the city.A crew from Texas was called to lead the project, driving overnight to La Jolla Friday.Crews plan to first fill the cave's cracks with an eco-friendly polyurethane mix to strengthen the dirt. The next phase will be to clear out all of the water and fill the cave with a concrete mix.Construction is expected to last about six weeks, closing parts of Coast Blvd. and Cave St.Cook's Crack is located in the area between La Jolla Cove and the popular Cave Store. The strip of road leads down to seaside restaurants and parking for many tourists and residents.The project required the city to quickly close the road before locals realized what the issue was, though businesses and residents were allowed to pass through the area Friday."They said there's been some shift in the road itself," David Heine, owner of nearby Brockton Villa Restaurant, told 10News. KERNVILLE, Calif. About 45 miles to the west of the quake's epicenter, San Diegan Jose Blanco was watching television on the couch in his parents' home. His three children were playing outside."Banging, jolting, up and down ... eyes were shaking. Just seemed surreal," said Blanco.Blanco says he jumped off the couch and then froze, trying to wait out the shaking."Wow, is this really happening? Just shocked ... Seemed like a good minute. Seemed like forever," said Blanco.When the home finally stopped moving, Blanco ran to his children and found them safe. A few things fell and a few cabinet doors opened, but there was no major damage. In the first few hours after the quake, he felt more than 10 aftershocks. He and his family may not get much sleep."Wondering if there's going to be more, if it's going to keep going," said Blanco.Getting back to San Diego is another concern. (KGTV) -- Border Patrol and a host of other government agencies are investigating after authorities found a cross-border tunnel in the east San Diego County town of Jacumba.The tunnel was discovered by Mexican State Police on September 19 just 221 feet south of the U.S./Mexico boundary.On October 4, agents found an entry point that was roughly 31 feet deep. The total length of the tunnel is 627 feet, 336 feet of which is in the United States.The average length of the tunnel was three feet high and two and a half feet wide. An exit shaft was discovered, but didn't break the surface into the U.S. RELATED: Cross-border tunnel leading to KFC found in YumaOn top of the massive tunnel, authorities discovered a complex system used to light and ventilate the tunnel. The system included solar panels used to run the electrical, lighting and ventilation systems, and a pump system used to get rid of any water inside the tunnel.Authorities didn’t say whether any arrests have been made or what the tunnel was supposed to be used for, though the Drug Enforcement Administration is one of the investigating agencies. 1149
