ALABASTER, Ala. — A photographer in Alabama was able to capture the beauty of a rare yellow cardinal that is taking the internet by storm. Jeremy Black took the photograph of the rare yellow bird in Alabaster, Alabama.According to Geoffrey Hill, a bird curator at Auburn University in Alabama, the bird is a rare male northern cardinal that has a "one in a million" genetic mutation that makes its red feathers turn yellow. Additionally, the mutation is so rare, that only one is seen each year in the United States."This yellow cardinal displays a rare mutation causes the metabolic process to produce a different type of pigment than the typical red coloration," Black wrote on his Facebook page.Black says that he was able to photograph the yellow cardinal after his friend, Charlie Stephenson, noticed the bird at her feeder in January. According to National Geographic, on February 17, Black spent five hours in Stephenson's backyard with a camera in hand, hoping the beautiful bird would make a second appearance. "As soon as it landed, I was starstruck," Black told National Geographic. AKRON, Ohio — One couple is accusing a haunted house in Akron, Ohio of subjecting patrons to a mock rape scene without asking their permission or having them sign a waiver."There was a man in a mask standing over my boyfriend, my boyfriend was on the edge and he was being pushed down," said Sarah Lelonek."She comes over and yells, 'Stop, what are you doing? That's my boyfriend,' " said Lelonek's boyfriend Ryan Carr. "'Not anymore, he's mine now I'm going to rape him' and then he started thrusting against me."The couple says this all went down at the Akron Fright Fest, which is housed on the Kim Tam Park property. They say this is not the special haunted house where you had to sign a waiver to enter, although they do offer a haunted house like that on the property. Lelonek and Carr aren't the only ones complaining about this rape scenario.One Facebook user wrote "It was 100 percent a rape scene," and someone else said, "They did have a mock rape scene in one of the houses."A different viewer sent WEWS television station reporters a private Facebook message and wrote, "They grabbed my ankles and shins and pulled my legs apart and was thrusting while telling me to scream papa."WEWS reached out to the haunted house manager over Facebook, but he did not respond to the message. The owner of the property said he would have the manager contact us. A woman was killed Monday morning in an apparent alligator attack on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office said.Witnesses told investigators the woman was walking her dog near a lagoon in the coastal resort about 9:30 a.m. ET when she was attacked and pulled underwater by the animal, the BCSO said.The BCSO Environmental Crimes Unit and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources are searching for the alligator, reported to be about 8 feet in length.Emergency responders found the woman's body in the lagoon. An autopsy is being conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina to determine the cause of the death. The victim has not been identified.The dog did not appear to be harmed, authorities said. The attack happened off Wood Duck Road in Sea Pines Plantation, the BCSO said.Alligator attacks on humans are rare but not unheard of in the Deep South. In June, a Florida woman walking her dogs was pulled into the water and killed by an alligator.Shizuka Matsuki, 47, died at Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park in Davie, north of Miami, said the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. All national forests in California will close Wednesday evening as the state sees “explosive growth of fires throughout” the state.The U.S. Forest Service closed eight national forests in Southern California Monday night, and the rapid growth Tuesday in windy weather conditions led to the decision to close the remaining ten forest areas.Nearly 2.3 million acres have burned already this year, setting a state record. Roughly two dozen wildfires are burning currently. “The number of large fires and extreme fire behavior we are seeing across the State is historic," said Regional Forester Randy Moore in a release. "These temporary closures are necessary to protect the public and our firefighters, and we will keep them in place until conditions improve and we are confident that National Forest visitors can recreate safely.”More than 140 people had to be rescued from the path of the Creek Fire this week, some were hikers and campers trapped without a way to escape the rapidly spreading flames. The Creek Fire is burning in part of the Sierra National Forest, which was closed to visitors on Monday.The Forest Service manages 18 National Forests in California, which take up almost 20 million acres.
