BEIJING, March 26 (Xinhua) -- China will curb excessively high funeral charges by regulating the industry and reducing or remitting fees for low-income groups, the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) said Monday.

Spokesman Hong Lei's remarks came in reply to a question on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's response to the Arab League (AL) summit, which ended in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Thursday.

According to Wu, such investigations should focus on the scientific level, feasibility and effectiveness of a law system by objectively analyzing experiences of the implementation of related laws and regulations.

"Exchanges and cooperation between China and India have seen remarkable progress in recent years and China is satisfied with the current growth of bilateral relations," said Luo Zhaohui, director-general of the department of Asian affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
