SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A new indictment unsealed Thursday against the owner/operators of San Diego-based pornographic website GirlsDoPorn.com alleges that co-owner Michael James Pratt -- who remains on the lam on federal sex trafficking charges -- also produced pornographic content involving a 16-year- old girl. Pratt was charged in a complaint last month along with three others with sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion for allegedly filming victims under the guise of distributing the videos only to private clients, then disseminating the videos online without the victims' knowledge or consent. The new indictment adds two additional defendants and charges of production of child pornography and sex trafficking of a minor against Pratt alone, with the incidents allegedly occurring in September 2012. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, numerous young women who initially responded to ads for modeling jobs were allegedly deceived by the defendants to appear in adult films. Once the victims learned the work involved pornography, the defendants allegedly told them the videos would be distributed to private clients -- usually living overseas -- and not disseminated on the internet. To help convince the women to participate, reference women like Nored were allegedly hired to lie to the women and claim they had also filmed pornographic videos for the defendants, which were never posted on the internet. Others were not allowed to leave the shoots -- which were conducted at various San Diego hotels -- until the videos were completed, which sometimes involved sex acts the victims initially declined to perform, prosecutors allege. The defendants are also currently involved in a San Diego civil trial involving a lawsuit filed by 22 women who appeared in videos on the site. The allegations in that trial -- which began in mid-August -- mirror the new federal charges. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A San Diego man who mailed more than four pounds of pure methamphetamine to Guam inside stuffed animals and had more than 500 counterfeit credit cards in his possession was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced Thursday.Daniel Wayne Gorman, 33, pleaded guilty to sending four packages from a Jamul post office in 2016, each containing a stuffed animal filled with methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.The packages were mailed under the alias "Daniel German" and were intercepted in Barrigada, Guam, prosecutors said.He was sentenced Monday to 10 years for his plea to distribution of methamphetamine and five years for possession of counterfeit access devices stemming from fake credit cards and driver's licenses discovered at his home during a 2018 police search.Investigators found more than 500 counterfeit cards, along with "multiple fake Florida driver's licenses bearing the defendant's photograph but the personal identifying information of others," according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.Many of the credit cards also bore the names of real individuals who were not Gorman, prosecutors said. 1187

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An East Village couple was behind bars Wednesday for allegedly subjecting a 3-year old child to torture and sexual abuse over a several-month period while caring for the toddler at their home, San Diego police reported.Officers arrested Marcos Javier Ramirez, 27, and 25-year-old Vennesia Ruiz in the Midway area on Tuesday evening, SDPD public-affairs Lt. Shawn Takeuchi said.Ramirez and Ruiz had been entrusted by an acquaintance to care for the child when the abuse allegedly began last October, Takeuchi said. Three months later, the toddler's mother began to suspect that there was abuse occurring and notified the police, the spokesman said.Ramirez was booked on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor, forcible sex with a foreign object, torture and child cruelty, according to jail records. Ruiz was being held on suspicion of two counts of the latter charge. Both were scheduled for arraignment April 6.Takeuchi, who declined to specify the child's gender, described the suspects as "a couple" but said he did not know if they are husband and wife. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - County supervisors Wednesday approved a master plan update for the McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, which includes extending the runway 800 feet.The 4-0 vote also approved environmental reports associated with the upgrade.Board Chairwoman Kristin Gaspar abstained, saying her family's company owns property near the airport.According to a county presentation, the Carlsbad-based airport accommodates commercial, corporate and private flights.However, the airport is not able to accommodate Boeing 737 planes. The runway extension ranges between 370 and 800 feet.By 2030, it will support 4,600 jobs and generate over 0 million in business-related revenue, million in taxes, the report said.The total upgrade would cost 2 million, with the county paying million; while the federal government would take care of the rest, according to the county.
