In a security policy that has been implemented in many stadiums and arenas around the country, large bags will soon be banned inside Cinemark's movie theaters, the company has announced. The ban will go into effect on Thursday at all of its theaters. Cinemark is the parent company of chains such as Rave Motion Pictures, Century Theatres, CineArts and Tinseltown. Bags larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches will not be permitted. Exceptions may be made for medical equipment and diaper bags. Cinemark said there will not be anywhere to check bags. The chain also said that the company reserves the right to inspect all bags entering its theaters. A Century Theatre, which is owned by Cinemark, was the scene of a mass shooting in July 2012, when 12 were killed and 58 were wounded by a gunman. (KGTV) - A recent break to a sewage pipe south of the U.S.-Mexico border is allowing sewage to flow freely into the Tijuana River Valley and Pacific Ocean, officials say.The International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) said they were alerted to the break in the Tijuana sewage pipe by Mexico authorities recently. The pipe broke Dec. 7, according to Imperial Beach Mayor Serge Dedina, though the city was notified Tuesday.IBWC officials said Wednesday, "CESPT (Tijuana Water Utility) has informed us through the Mexican Section that a rupture was discovered yesterday on the Colector Poniente in Southeast Tijuana. This rupture caused the soil above the pipe to collapse in an auto junkyard. Several sinkholes were discovered yesterday by the workers at the property and notified CESPT who then diverted the flows upstream to a stormwater collector which drains to the Tijuana River. "The IBWC estimated the flow of sewage into the Tijuana River to be at 300 liters per second, or approximately 7 millions gallons per day. In an old traditional historic church building sits a seemingly nontraditional religion."We don’t pretend that we’ve invented something new; we just gave it a title and a safe place for people to use cannabis in their spiritual journeys to come here, and worship, and pray,” said co-founder Steve Berke. “We don’t tell them who to pray to. It’s really an open-minded spiritual community."Their religion is Elevationism. Berke says it's about elevating one's self to the best version of self."While we do believe that cannabis can help you on your way to your spiritual journey, it’s also okay if you don’t use cannabis," said Berke.He says they have people all over the world come to their church. People of all political views, races, and even other religious beliefs have joined their congregation."Elevationism is not a replacement to your existing faith. It’s more of a supplement to it. You can be a Christian and an Elevationist. You can be Jewish and an Elevationist. You can be a Buddhist and an Elevationist," said Berke.Before COVID-19, like any other church, they would hold a Sunday service in their sanctuary with speakers, music, and lessons to take away. But unlike a traditional church, the consumption of cannabis was allowed."We certainly encourage people to try cannabis, and if it doesn’t work for you, that’s OK. You don’t have to use cannabis. We don’t tell you when to use it. We’ve volunteered picking up trash in the neighborhood, volunteering at animal shelters, feeding the homeless. We do all of the things that a normal church does without preaching a dogma inside our church," said Berke.For now, they have one location in Denver but plan to expand to Los Angeles next year. They're also working on more guided meditations."We’ll have BEYOND Happiness, BEYOND love, BEYOND doubt, so all these different themes encouraging people to think and question existing establishment thought and really encourage their spiritual paths and journeys," explained Berke.Berke says the one golden rule of their ministry is similar to other traditional religions: treat others the way you want to be treated."We’re all one human race. We may have different beliefs. We may believe in different gods, but that’s okay, right?
