SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A North Park house, empty for years, has nearby neighbors frustrated about the lack of action taken to clean up the property they say has become a magnet for crime. "We have people that are squatting here, we've had illicit drug use, we've had prostitutes, we've had an increase in break ins in the area, " said Alan Nelson, who lives across the street. Nelson says even though he and others call the police, unless it's an emergency they can't always come out. He has called and emailed Councilman Chis Ward's office repeatedly about the matter but isn't happy with the response he's received. Ward's office says the property is in foreclosure and the case is being handled by the city attorney's office. They issued the following statement to 10News:"My office has been working with the San Diego police department and city code enforcement to address the illegal activity occurring at this property. Public safety is and will always remain my most pressing priority." A code compliance hearing for the property is scheduled for late April.  1106

They had been living in Oklahoma but both decided to hitchhike to California in October. RELATED: Former pro skateboarder convicted of rape and murder granted paroleThe woman, whose name was not released, said they stayed in Los Angeles for a week before coming down to San Diego where they were staying in a tent at a campground. She told the judge Roberts forcibly raped her one morning, holding her hands above her head.“I was telling him it was wrong, saying it was rape,” she said. After, she said Roberts left to go to work and she called a Lyft car which drove her all the way to Arizona where she called police and reported the alleged rape. The second victim said she met Roberts while walking near the beach in Pacific Beach in November of 2018.“He seemed like a very nice person,” she said through an interpreter.RELATED: Police searching for additional victims in sex assault caseThe woman said she is from Brazil but had been living in Washington, DC working as an au pair for a family. She traveled with them to San Diego for vacation and bumped into Roberts on her day off.She said he began making small talk and told her his roommate had a Brazilian girlfriend. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A recent SurveyUSA/10News poll shows 53% of San Diegans are worried about the cost of food, and that gets especially troublesome in the summer, when kids are out of school. Many families lose much needed support from free or reduced price meals at school. But a program through Feeding San Diego is working to make sure every kid has the "Fuel for Summer" they need."It's both heartwarming and heartbreaking," says Feeding San Diego CEO Vince Hall. "That summer meal we're able to provide is probably the first meal that they've had of the day."1 in 6 children in San Diego faces hunger and food insecurity. The Fuel for Summer program provides meals that follow all federal nutritional guidelines. They include a protein, side, vegetable, fruit and healthy drink. Often, Hall says, they're introducing kids to foods they don't get on a regular basis."I went to one of the meals last summer," says Hall with a smile. "There were kids who'd never had a tamale, and had to be instructed on how to eat a tamale, and then they thought they were absolutely delicious."The Fuel for Summer program has 16 sites, some feed as many as 200 kids every day. It's one less thing parents have to worry about as their kids play all summer."When you are struggling with the high cost of housing, you're struggling with the other high cost of living factors, Feeding San Diego is really focused on just making sure the basic nutritional elements of those children are taken care of," says Hall. For more information, or to donate to the program, go to FeedingSanDiego.org. 1586

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A Point Loma woman said a man took photos of her chest as she was walking into the Ralphs grocery store on Rosecrans Boulevard on Tuesday morning. It was around 9 a.m. when Julie Buerckley noticed a man standing by the entrance and as she got closer she says he began snapping photos on his phone.  "He was taking pictures of me but it wasn't of my whole body, it was just of my chest," said Buerckley.Buerckley told 10News she ran inside to tell someone, but by the time employees came out the man was long gone. She said there's no telling how long he'd been there or who else he'd taken pictures of. "I'm worried about kids getting pictures taken when their parents aren't paying attention and stuff," Buerckley said. "That's what I'm worried about."She described the man as being tall, and wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.  906
