CHICANO PARK (KGTV) -- A man was rushed to the hospital after being shot near Chicano Park Friday night, San Diego police said.A caller reported the man shot near Chicano Park on National Avenue and Dewey Street at 9:49 p.m. San Diego Police say officers arrived to find a large group gathered in a parking lot and a silver sedan trying to leave.The group fled, including the occupants of the silver sedan. Officers discovered a 15-year-old Hispanic male in the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.Officers started CPR on the teen before first responders arrived to take him to a nearby hospital. The teen died at the hospital, police said.Police say the teen has been identified but his name was not being released.San Diego police said the incident is being investigated as a homicide. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Chula Vista Police identified Tuesday a man and woman who were shot by the woman’s ex-boyfriend in a deadly domestic violence dispute near a Costco. The incident happened Monday afternoon while Angelina Perez, 32 and Samuel Valdez, 31, were loading groceries in the trunk of their vehicle in the parking lot of the store on Broadway with their infant daughter in a stroller. Sean Illian, 48, approached them with a gun and opened fire, hitting Perez and Valdez several times, police said. The baby was not hurt.Witnesses in the parking lot saw Illian shoot himself in the head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said Perez and Illian had been in a relationship which ended badly in 2018. Perez began dating Valdez just after the breakup, investigators said. (KGTV) - Chula Vista Police officers and San Diego County Sheriff's deputies surrounded a South Bay home Friday in a SWAT standoff.San Diego Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle near Orange Avenue and Interstate 805 in Chula Vista for a vehicle violation at about 12 p.m., according to SDSO. Deputies were working a multi-agency narcotics operation when the stop occurred.A passenger, identified as Fernando Salas, fled the vehicle shortly after the stop was initiated. Salas resisted deputies' attempted to detain him, SDSO said, resulting in minor injuries to one deputy.Salas fled into a home in the 1400 block of Camellia Court, prompting a standoff.The occupants of the home forced Salas to surrender and he was taken into custody by deputies on charges of resisting a deputy, according to SDSO. The driver of the stopped vehicle, identified as Daniel Garcia, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of metal knuckles.A person inside the home, identified as Angel Garcia, was also arrested for felony child endangerment for "his actions during the incident," according to SDSO.Several individuals ran from the home. Officers and deputies handcuffed as many as 12 people and placed them in U.S. Border Patrol or Sheriff's department vehicles. A child and dog were also removed from the home.Only Salas, Daniel Garcia, and Angel Garcia were arrested though, SDSO said.Sheriff's deputies and Chula Vista Police officers cleared the scene around 3 p.m. but didn't brief media on the situation before leaving. 1621

(KGTV) -- New information from the county shows that an anonymous tip led to the inspection and eventual closure of Filippi's.According to the county, the property manager of the complex requested that the Department of Health's Vector Control Program provide a consultation on rodent activity at the complex. After completing the inspection of the building's exterior, inspectors reportedly found a small amount of rodent droppings near the dumpster areas behind the complex. RELATED: Filippi's pizza restaurant in Eastlake Chula Vista closes for good after vermin infestation reportIn February of 2018, the county says inspectors received an anonymous complaint regarding rodents inside Filippi's. The restaurant received a primary inspection report on April 18 showing that an inspector found 20 dried rodent droppings in a back oven and rodent nests in the panels of two ovens. The inspector also reportedly found rodent droppings in utensil storage areas, beneath a stove and in dry storage areas. The report shows that there were several holes in an exterior wall and a door leading to the outdoor trash area. A second inspection was conducted a second day which found six dried mouse droppings and two fresh rat droppings in a dry storage area. Dried urine was also found on plastic wrapper of cardboard pizza boxes and gnaw marks through plastic into boxes, according to the report. 1474
