The image and description for the film have been updated in Netflix.The poster sparked outrage online, and with some comparing the poster to pedophilia. In the days following the release of the artwork, thousands had signed a Change.org petition calling for the film to be removed from Netflix. The suspect in the shooting deaths of two people at Central Michigan University is in custody, police reported early Saturday. Police spent most of Friday searching for a 19-year-old person of interest after two people were shot and killed on the campus of Central Michigan University on Friday. Scripps station WXYZ in Detroit is reporting that the victims are the suspect's parents.James Eric Davis Jr. is the suspect in the deaths of his parents James Davis Sr. and his wife, Diva Davis. Davis Sr. is a part-time police officer in Illinois in Chicago. Police later confirmed the identities of the victims.  652

The White House said late Friday it is prepared to veto a bill proposed by House Democrats to infuse the cash-strapped Postal Service with funds.The White House’s announcement comes a week after President Donald Trump said he supported funding the Postal Service with Congressional funds. Last week marked a period of the Postal Service removing machines and collection boxes, as mail service has slowed for many across the country.The bill introduced by House Democrats would, in addition to providing funds, require the post office to maintain its current level of service, not close any locations and would lift a prohibition of overtime. Those measures would be in effect through at least the end of the year.According to the Congressional Budget Office, the bill would provide an estimated billion in funding for the post office.The White House pushed back in a policy memo, claiming that reports of slowdowns are an “overreaction.”“This bill misses an opportunity to improve USPS,” the White House said.“USPS does not need a billion bailout. It needs reforms that will return it to a trend of long- term financial self-sufficiency,” the White House added.The Trump administration said that USPS has enough funds to operate through August 2021. But during his Senate testimony on Friday, Postmaster Louis DeJoy said that the post office is losing billion on an annual basis.“Without change our losses will only increase in the years to come,” DeJoy said.The USPS has historically been self-sufficient. But declining volume and increased pension costs have cut into the service’s bottom line. The U.S. has now recorded at least 100,000 cases of COVID-19 each day for the last three weeks.On Monday, at least 169,190 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded throughout the U.S., marking 21 consecutive days that the country has seen at least 100,000 new COVID-19 cases.During that time span — dating back to Nov. 2 — the number of people in the country hospitalized with complications from the virus has nearly doubled from 48,557 to 85,836. Currently, about 69% of those hospitalizations are occurring in the South and Midwest, meaning some hospitals in those areas — particularly rural hospitals — are currently operating at capacity.The massive spike in cases has also caused the number of deaths linked to COVID-19 on a rolling 7-day average to nearly doubled from 826 a day to 1,515 a day. The last time the U.S. saw as many deaths per day as it sees now came back in mid-May when the country was still recovering from the virus' silent and uncontained spread in early spring. Over the weekend, the U.S. surpassed 3 million new cases in November alone. The country has recorded 12.4 million cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, meaning about one-quarter of all of those cases have occurred this month alone.Despite the bleak outlook on the state of the pandemic in the country, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the county's top expert on infectious diseases, warned Monday that the pandemic could worsen further. He said that if Americans don't follow common-sense public safety measures on Thanksgiving, cases could spike even further in December."The chances are that you will see a surge superimposed on a surge," Fauci said.Fauci recommends limiting Thanksgiving gatherings to members of a single household. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (USPSC) announced Wednesday that it is issuing a recall of Xtava Allure hair dryers due to concerns that they could catch fire or deliver electrical shocks.According to the USPSC, the recall affects more than 200,000 hair dryers.Nearly 200 people have reported the dryers and power cords have either "overheated, melted, exploded or caught fire" while in use. Eighteen people sustained burns while using the product, with one of those being classified as a "severe" burn.The dryers were sold online at Amazon, eBay, Walmart and Groupon, in addition to Xtava's own website. They were sold individually or in a hair care pack that included "treatment products, a flat iron or a diffuser."The affected products include the following SKU numbers on a label on the back:  XTV010001, XTV010001N, XTV010002, or XTV010002N.Those with the dryers should contact Xtava directly.
