A security camera captured video of an officer in Asyut, Egypt catching a 5-year-old boy who jumped off a third-story balcony on Saturday. The video was released by Egypt's Ministry of Interior. In the video, three officers are seen looking up, as one officer grabs some fabric. A few seconds later, the boy, identified by CBS News as Ammar Motaz Abd El-Salam, lands into the arms of Kameel Fathy Geed, 45. The force of the boy falling was enough to knock over the officer. Officer, with the boy in his arms, falls to the ground, but his fall was softened by the fabric. The Ministry of Interior said that no one suffered any major injuries. In an interview with Egyptian TV network Dream TV, the boy's mother said El-Salem reportedly climbed onto a small table during a party. A rare, deadly form of skin cancer is on the rise in the US, and dermatologists are warning people to take extra care of their skin as we head into the summer months.Merkel Cell Carcinoma is found mostly among older patients, but the American Cancer Society says that there are around 1500 cases reported each year."It's devastating because it's usually not picked up until later stages," says Dr. Melanie Palm. She works at Art of Skin in Solana Beach and has treated one case of MCC. "It's more lethal than melanoma. It often has lymph node involvement. It very quickly metastasizes."Research from the ACS says the disease is often associated with a virus. But it seems to affect older people because they have more, prolonged exposure to the sun.Doctors are calling attention to MCC and other forms of skin cancer all throughout May during Skin Cancer Awareness Month. They say it's much easier to prevent Merkel Cell and other cancers than it is to treat them."We live in San Diego. I don't want people to hide from the sun," says Dr. Palm. "But I think being responsible about it is reasonable."That includes wearing sunscreen, protective clothing and regular visits to a dermatologist."It's something I tell all my friends," says Jen Massara, a skin cancer survivor. "Best case scenario is you're fine, you check that box, you're good to go. Worst case scenario, they find something, and you get it taken care of."Self-inspections are also helpful. Dr. Palm tells her patients to keep the "ABCDE's" in mind when looking at moles."A is asymmetery, if it has an odd shape," she says. "B is Border, is the border irregular on the spot. C is color. Is it dark, pink or have several colors. D is diameter. We don't like anything bigger than a pencil head. And E is evolution, has it grown or changed over time."As for sunscreen, Dr. Palm says you want to make sure zinc oxide or titanium dioxide have the highest percentage of all the active ingredients. A Utah man is suing McDonald's and Coca-Cola's main bottler, Swire Coca-Cola, after he allegedly had his drink spiked at a McDonald's with the heroin substitute Suboxone.In a complaint filed in Utah's Third Judicial District Court, the plaintiff Trevor Walker alleges that his diet coke was spiked on Aug. 12, 2016, at a McDonald's drive-thru in Riverton, Utah.According to the complaint, Walker and his family went through the drive-thru, where they ordered two happy meals, two chicken sandwiches, and two Diet Cokes.Walker drank the beverage as he and his family went home, the complaint stated. While watching his children, Walker said that his fingers became non-responsive, and he began to lose feeling in his arms and legs."My life and being here is the biggest miracle of the whole situation," Walker told KTSU-TV in Utah. "As I started to shift my body, I started to sense almost like a lapse in time, like between the time I would move my hands there was a delay."The complaint said that during the incident, Walker sent the following text messages to his wife:Text No. 1: "Something is vey (sic) wrong with me. I am having sensations in my arms and everything is moving slowly. I'm feeling scared. I don't know what to do."Text No. 2: "I'm so scared I'm trying to be calm. I need you."Soon after sending the texts, the complaint alleges that Walker "blacked out," and fell onto a nearby table and collapsed onto the floor. Walker's wife came home, and he was taken to the emergency room.While at the hospital, the complaint stated that Walker's wife compared her Diet Coke to his, and noticed that his drink had, "speckles and a film on the surface—a fact that Trevor (Walker) was not aware of due to the lid placed by McDonald's on the drink."Walker's wife called the Unified Police Department and reported the suspicious drink. The plaintiff said that police responded to the hospital and took the drink for testing at the Utah State Crime Lab.The complaint said that the Utah State Crime Lab confirmed the drink contained a heroin substitute called buprenorphine or Suboxone. Walker's urine also tested positive for Buprenorphine."The drug negatively interacted with Mr. Walker's medication, causing him to lose feeling in his arms and legs, lose the ability to walk, and eventually lose consciousness," the complaint stated.McDonald's is accused in the complaint of failing to preserve the video recording of the drive-thru area where the alleged drink spiking took place, by deleting the video.Walker demanded a trial by jury in the complaint and sought relief for damages caused to him during the incident.The-CNN-Wire 2648

A possible partial government shutdown is only a hand full of days away with President Donald Trump and congressional Democrats locked in a dispute over border security with no resolution in sight.Funding expires for a number of key government agencies on December 21 at midnight. And while there is still time to avert a shutdown, so far the two sides have been unable to reach an agreement to keep the government open.The key sticking point is how much money Congress should allocate for the President's long-promised wall at the US-Mexico border. Trump wants billion, but Democrats are unwilling to agree to that and any spending bill needs bipartisan support to pass Congress, due in part to Senate rules requiring a 60-vote threshold to advance (Republicans control the chamber 51-49).If a shutdown takes place, it would be limited in scope. That's because Congress has already funded roughly 75% of the federal government through September 2019, including the Pentagon as well as the Departments of Health and Human Services and Labor.But that doesn't mean a partial shutdown just days before Christmas wouldn't be disruptive.There are still seven spending bills that need to be passed and funding is set to expire on December 21 for the Department of Homeland Security, the Justice Department, the Interior Department, the State Department, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and other parts of the government.In the event of a shutdown, some federal employees would be deemed essential and would continue to work, but their pay would be withheld until the shutdown is over.Other federal employees would be placed on furlough, meaning they would effectively be put on a leave of absence without pay. A man was arrested after he broke into a Long Island home posing as a Nassau County police officer Friday evening.Robert White, 48, forced his way into the victim’s second floor bedroom apartment around 6:30 p.m., police said.When he entered the apartment, he told the victim, 21, he was an officer and was there to collect rent money. He threatened the victim would be arrested if he did not comply, authorities said.The victim handed White an undisclosed amount of money, police said.White was later taken into custody and was charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of grand larceny and criminal impersonation. 629
