JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli archaeologists have announced the discovery of a trove of early Islamic gold coins during recent salvage excavations near the central city of Yavne. The collection of 425 complete gold coins, most dating to the Abbasid period around 1,100 years ago, is an "extremely rare" find. She has no idea how she will meet her August rent.“Right now, I have nothing,” said Yanez, who briefly got her bar job back when the establishment reopened, but lost it again when she and her 4-year-old daughter contracted the virus in June and had to quarantine. The apartment owners “don’t care if you’re sick, if you’re not well. Nobody cares here. They told me that I had to have the money.”Yanez, who lives in the U.S. illegally, is among some 23 million people nationwide at risk of being evicted, according to The Aspen Institute, as moratoriums enacted because of the coronavirus expire and courts reopen. She has yet to receive her stimulus check and has not been approved for unemployment benefits. Her family is getting by with food stamps and the charity of neighbors.“I can’t believe this happened to me because I work hard,” said Blunt, whose eviction is at the mercy of the federal moratorium. “I don’t have any money coming in. I don’t have nothing. I don’t know what to do. ... My heart is so heavy.”Along with exacerbating a housing crisis in many cities that have long been plagued by a shortage of affordable options, widespread discrimination and a lack of resources for families in need, the spike in filings is raising concerns that housing courts could spread the coronavirus.Many cities are still running hearings virtually. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Emergency crews met a Frontier Airlines plane on the runway Tuesday afternoon at KCI after the plane’s pilots reported landing gear problems.The pilots of Frontier Airlines Flight 821 from Philadelphia to Kansas City were on approach to KCI around 5:15 p.m. when they radioed into air traffic controllers about a landing gear problem. The plane did a flyby of the airport before circling back and making another try.Just before 6 p.m., the plane landed without incident at KCI.Emergency crews quickly evaluated the plane on the runway before the plane proceeded to the terminal.The plane was an Airbus A321. 639

At the start of the pandemic, nine months ago, most experts were optimistic and agreed that the U.S. had a strong shot at seeing a fast V-shaped recovery.“We can turn this around this year. I still think there’s real hope for that,” Todd McCracken, with the Small Business Association, said in March.Even with some required government shutdowns, most experts believed the U.S. would most likely see a U-shaped recovery. That means things would pick up a little slower, but it would still be considered a relatively fast rebound.“There was also the L, which meant we were going to go down to the bottom and no one knew where we were going to go, and then there was the W, which meant we were going to go down and then we were going to come up, and actually, that is pretty much what is happening,” said Jonathan Drapkin, president and CEO of the Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress.Drapkin pointed out the other and more dreaded “W” or “L” scenarios experts feared back in March appear to be more in line with what the U.S. is actually experiencing now.“It’s definitely more of an L, said Elise Gould, an economist with the Economic Policy Institute.“Personally, I think any hope for a quick recovery has gone by the wayside.
