Rapper T.I. was arrested early Wednesday in Henry County, Georgia, outside Atlanta, according to authorities. The musician, whose legal name is Clifford Harris Jr., was arrested outside the gated community where he resides. The Henry County Sheriff's Office said T.I. was cited on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after an alleged incident about 4 a.m. in Stockbridge, south of Atlanta.According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, T.I. did not have his key and argued with a guard, who refused to let him in.He has since posted bond.In a statement provided to CNN, attorney Steve Sadow said T.I. was "wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community -- where his wife 'Tiny' and his family reside.""The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse," Sadow said, using the rapper's nickname. "It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard."Sadow said the rapper identified himself, was refused entry and then called his wife, singer Tameka "Tiny" Harris, who confirmed his identity."The guard continued to refuse entry without justification," the lawyer's statement said. "Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police. When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip."It's not the first time T.I. has run afoul of authorities. In 2009, he was sentenced to one year and one day in prison and ordered to pay a 0,300 fine on weapons charges related to purchasing machine guns and silencers.The-CNN-Wire 1660

Ray Szmanda, known to generations of Americans as the man who brought Menards commercials to life, has died at age 91.Szmanda passed away at his home in Antigo on Sunday, May 6, according to an obituary posted to Bradley Funeral Home & Crematory's website.Szmanda worked in T.V. and radio in the 1950s and operated a broadcast school in Waukesha, Wisconsin until the late 1970s, when he joined Menards as a pitchman. In 1970 he founded the Transamerica School of Broadcasting in Wausau, helping local talent to achieve their dreams, and preparing them for the airwaves. Prince Philip, husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, has been discharged from a London hospital following surgery on his hip, Buckingham Palace said Friday."His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh left King Edward VII's Hospital at midday today (Friday), following a hip replacement operation last week. The Duke will continue his recovery at Windsor," the statement said."His Royal Highness would like to convey his appreciation for the messages of good wishes he has received."Philip, 96, was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago. An update the following day said he had undergone a "successful" hip operation and was recovering well.On Thursday he was visited by his daughter Anne, the Princess Royal, who said he was "on good form," according to Britain's Press Association news agency. The Queen also told a member of the public who asked after Philip that "he said he's getting on very well," the news agency reported. In August 2017, the Duke retired from 65 years of public service, more than five years after the Palace originally said he would gradually "wind down" his workload, though he remained keen to carry out many of his duties.Queen Elizabeth, 91, has also begun to scale back her duties due to her advancing age, handing over some of her responsibilities to her heir, Prince Charles. The British monarch and her husband marked their 70th wedding anniversary last November. On May 19, they will celebrate the wedding of their grandson Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at St. George's Chapel in Windsor. The occasion may well be the first public appearance by Philip following his surgery.  1620
