The order applies to owners and tenants of “any” residential property.However, there are a few important caveats.First, in order to be protected from eviction, you are required to provide your landlord with a signed copy of the declaration form that is located at the end of the CDC’s order.Secondly, on the form, you have to swear that your income is below the CDC’s outlined threshold and that you are unable to make full rent payment because of a substantial loss of household income. The CDC’s income threshold is ,000 for single filers and 8,000 for joint filers.Lastly, renters have to certify on the form that they will continue to pay whatever portion of their rent that is manageable and that they are aware whatever rent was not paid will still be owed in addition to late fees.The CDC’s order protects renters until the end of 2020, but it does not protect homeowners against foreclosures. Wednesday's 4-3 ruling said the Greens' request came too late for any relief "that would not cause confusion and undue damage" just seven weeks before the election. Democrats had feared that Howie Hawkins' third-party campaign could siphon votes from Joe Biden and help Donald Trump in a state Trump narrowly carried four years ago. Adding Hawkins to the ballot also threatened delay and chaos in the effort to mail out absentee ballots to more than 1 million voters who have already requested them. Castro embraced Diaz-Canel -- who wasn't yet born when Fidel Castro led his revolution in 1959 -- during Wednesday's session, all but sealing his status as the island's next president.Raul Castro is still expected to exercise a large measure of control over the Cuban government and have the final say on important decisions. McDonald’s plans to accelerate “some restaurant closings previously planned for future years” because of the pandemic, resulting in 200 closures in the U.S. in 2020.More than half of the closures are restaurants in Walmart store locations, according to the company. They did not detail which stores would be closing.The announcement came during an earnings call with investors and reporters Tuesday, in which McDonald’s talked about their up-and-down second quarter of the year. They said 96% of its 39,000 restaurants worldwide are now open, compared to 75% at the start of the second quarter in April.But the recovery is uneven. Improvement has slowed in China, but same-store sales are improving in the U.S. McDonald’s net income fell 68% to 4 million during the second quarter.McDonald’s has about 14,000 restaurants in the U.S. and on the earnings call said they will have a gain of 350 net new restaurants this year as construction gets started in parts of the country.McDonald’s is not alone in closing restaurants during the pandemic.
