SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Carlsbad leaders this week approved nearly 0,000 to construct a new trail planned to loop around the city's strawberry fields.Carlsbad City Council voted to add the Hub Park trail to the city's Capital Improvement Program, a 2.4-mile trail on the south shore of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon in an area dubbed "Hub Park."Hub Park sits on land owned by SDG&E. The city has a lease agreement with SDG&E for a portion of the trail, but not the portion that would connect to nearby roads.RELATED: San Diego County park rangers recommend these trails in 2019The city voted to take 4,500 from the General Capital Construction Fund to fund building the eight-foot wide trail.The trail would lead from a new Interstate 5 bridge to a bluff within the leased property that overlooks the lagoon, the city says. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Chief Border Patrol Agent Douglas Harrison apologized Wednesday after a binational garden at the border was bulldozed. Harrison said on Twitter he met with Friends of Friendship Park and apologized for the “unintentional destruction of the garden.”“The original intent was to have the garden trimmed. We take full responsibility, are investigating the event, & look forward to working with FoFP on the path forward,” Harrison continued. Was so excited to hear SeaWorld was back open. My grandson was so excited ... and then my excitement, down to frustration," said Becker.She was frustrated because of the cost. The park's attractions will be limited to outdoor animal exhibits and shows. A ticket will include food, drink, and merchandise. Passholders like Becker get a complimentary ticket but must pay for the lanyard for the food and beverages. However, one local company has found a way to deal with these challenges, especially as kids get ready to start a new school year. Brain Balance of San Diego offers a holistic program that specializes in getting to the root of children's challenges."Those challenges might be academically, socially, or behavioral, says office director Amanda Lee. "We see a lot of parents who come in with children struggling with attention, and sensory processing."And at Brain Balance, they stay away from medications. "That just looks at the tip of the iceberg, and is a band-aid."They believe in the power of exercise, with workouts such as jump rope, balance beam, and planks just to give a few examples."It's fantastic for the brain, but the type of exercise we do here is very intentional.
