A California high school student has been charged with two counts of battery stemming from a fight involving a Donald Trump "Make America Great Again" cap, according to KOVR-TVCell phone video of the fight shows a Union Mine High School student confronting and yelling at a fellow student wearing a red MAGA hat in support of President Trump. After yelling at her classmate, she reportedly grabbed the hat off his head and threw it on the ground and left the classroom, according to the El Dorado Sheriff's Office.The student later returned to the classroom and again removed the student's hat. The teacher escorted the girl out of the classroom, and she reportedly slapped him on the arm as he led her out. A school resource officer arrested the girl in the hallway. She was taken to a local juvenile detention center and suspended from school, according to KTXL-TV. The girl was charged with two counts of battery, once against the student with the MAGA hat, the other against the teacher."“…student and staff safety is our highest priority and the UMHS administration will continue to cooperate with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office as the incident is being investigated,” the school said in a statement, according to KTXL.Alex Hider is a writer for the E.W. A federal appeals court on Friday overturned the death sentence of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. The three-judge panel of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston issued the decision more than six months after arguments were heard in the case. Tsarnaev’s lawyers had argued that intense media coverage had made it impossible to have a fair trial in Boston. The April 15, 2013, attack killed three people and injured more than 260 others. Tsarnaev was convicted on 30 charges, including conspiracy and use of a weapon of mass destruction. 577

A Clarksville teacher was charged with assault after an incident with a student during a field trip to Nashville was reported to police.According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, Robert Neitzke – a teacher at Clarksville Academy – was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a student by his throat and pushed him against a wall.The alleged incident happened on March 3 while a group of students were staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville. The police report said that Neitzke was the only adult on the trip.Around 11 p.m., Neitzke was reportedly trying to give students instructions for the next day and had to stop several times to get their attention. That’s when one of the students asked, “can we hurry this up,” and Neitzke allegedly approached the student and started to grab him. Police said Neitzke then said “it would be funny if your head hit the wall” before backing up and then grabbing the student by the neck before pushing him against the wall.The student told officers that he was able to say "get off me" and push him back. He told police that while he had no visible injuries, the squeezing of his neck caused “some discomfort.”Several other students were interviewed and all gave a very similar account of the incident, according to the report.
