SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - Several people in a San Marcos gated community have reported being targets of package thieves, according to one victim who spoke with 10News. The Sheriff's Department is looking at surveillance video, which appears to provide several leads.Mikayla Manos says a package was sent to her home on Almond Drive Friday.  Manos is a mentor for foster children. The package contained the personal items of one of those children, which she was asked to deliver to him.  When Manos arrived home, she did not see the package.Manos checked with her next-door neighbor, who has a surveillance camera. Video from Friday afternoon shows a girl walking past Manos' home. She turns and points toward Manos' porch and can be heard saying "get it".The video shows what appears to be a boy picking something up from Manos' porch, although the package cannot be clearly seen from the camera angle. At least two voices can be heard off camera. One is heard saying "I can't wait to wear these to school tomorrow." Manos says clothes are among the items stolen.Manos says she knows of at least three other neighbors who were victims.  10News spotted an empty Nordstrom bag ripped open on one neighbor's porch, while another neighbor tells 10News someone stole items from his garage when he briefly left it open around the same time.Several package boxes were found dumped nearby, including Manos'. (KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's deputies are investigating a possible threat made against West Hills High School late Monday.In a letter to parents, West Hills Principal Robin Ballarin said staff was made aware of the threat Monday concerning a student remark that referenced a possible act of violence.The 15-year-old student has been identified, school officials say.No weapon or written threats were found in connection with the student, deputies said.The remark was reportedly made during class at 10:30 a.m., according to deputies, who called the comment "generic." SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man has been taken into custody following a carjacking Friday afternoon in Santee, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.The incident started on the 9800 block of Mission Gorge Road around 1 p.m. when the suspect reportedly threatened to kill a 77-year-old woman and her family before hitting her, removing her from the car, and driving away with her purse and cell phone.Sheriff's deputies and La Mesa Police later found the suspect, Chris DiSalvo, 30, sitting in the stolen car on the 4600 block of Palm Drive in La Mesa. When he saw law enforcement, the department says he took off, crashing into a tree and running into a nearby apartment complex.DiSalvo was later found hiding in a stairwell and was arrested, the department says.According to authorities, DiSalvo admitted to taking drugs. He was given a dose of Naloxone and taken to the hospital.Upon his release from the medical facility, the department says he will be booked on several felony charges, including carjacking. 1035

SAN YSIDRO (CNS) - Police have little to go on today in the case of a 19-year-old who was shot in San Ysidro, authorities said.According to the teen, he was standing on the street by himself around 11:50 p.m. Saturday when it happened, said Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.``He heard his name called,'' Heims said. ``He then heard several shots and felt pain to his back.''The victim fell to the ground, Heims said.He wasn't able to provide police with any other information about what happened.The teen was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Police ask anyone with information to contact the SDPD Southern Division at 619-424-0400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-580-8477. 726
