The price and release date of the next PlayStation console was revealed Wednesday.During the PlayStation 5 showcase, Sony announced that the PS5 will launch on Nov. 12 in the US, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. Colorado is the latest state to move forward with a red flag law.Since the Parkland shooting, at least 9 states have passed laws allowing police to take guns from people who pose a significant threat to themselves or others.However, some members of law enforcement are fighting back. “What I’m refusing to do is enforce a law I believe, and I believe my constituent base is in agreement,” says Sheriff Steve Reams with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office in Greely, Colorado. “I can't enforce a law I believe goes against our state constitution or our federal Constitution.” Sheriff Reams is likely the loudest voice opposing Colorado’s red flag law. Half of the state’s county governments have passed resolutions, saying they don't want to enforce the law, which allows people to flag authorities about others who may be suicidal or dangerous. Police would then be able to take their guns. Critics argue gun owners don't have a fair chance to defend themselves, before their weapons are confiscated. “I don't believe this bill is constitutional,” Sheriff Reams says. “I've said that many times over. I'll continue to say that until [the] bill [is] modified in a way that makes sense and addresses the real issue, which is mental health.”Fourteen states have passed the red flag, including Florida, New York, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, California, Connecticut, Indiana, Oregon and Washington. One study found the Connecticut law reduced gun suicides by more than 10 percent in recent years, and the Indiana law led to a 7.5 percent drop. But in California, the red flag law did not stop a 28-year-old veteran with a long history of mental health issues from opening fire at bar, killing 12 people, because no one filed a petition with a court. “A flu shot is only good if you take it right, and so, I think part of what law enforcement is learned is having laws on the book is one thing, but having the confidence and understanding and training to use them is quite another,” says David Chipman with Giffords, an organization aimed at fighting gun violence. Police released new details late Tuesday afternoon about a dog owner who gunned down two people inside a Port St. Lucie home the day before.Investigators said Guy Alexander Hansman, 55, and his daughter, Harper Hansman, 11, were shot and killed by their neighbor, identified as Ronald Delserro, 82, at a home on Monday.According to police, the violence stemmed from a dispute over the gunman's dog, a bull mastiff named Roxy. Earlier on Monday, the animal had been declared dangerous in court."They all came home from court and then the suspect armed himself and went to the victim's house," St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said at a news conference.Authorities said that after police officers and deputies arrived at the scene on Monday, they entered the home and exchanged gunfire with Delserro, who was armed with two handguns.An officer was shot in the arm and was treated at the hospital and later released.A SWAT Team later discovered Delserro dead inside the house, according to police. It's unclear how he died.In a truly tragic development, police said Harper Hansman was the person who called 911 before her death.According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, the feud dated back to March 4, when Delserro's bull mastiff attacked and bit a woman who lived at the victims' home.That eventually led to a court hearing in which the animal was declared dangerous."I believe this to be an intentional act of violence against these neighbors," said Port St. Lucie Assistant Police Chief Richard DelToro on Monday. ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colorado — An argument over not getting recognition for testing done at Aurora West College Preparatory Academy led one of the school’s deans of instruction to bring a gun to campus and threaten school officials earlier this week, an affidavit released Friday reveals. Tushar Rae, 30, was arrested Wednesday and remains in Denver jail on suspicion of carrying a weapon on school grounds, a class 6 felony; as well as carrying a concealed weapon, a class 2 misdemeanor. His bond was set at 0,000. The affidavit states Principal Taisiya “Taya” Tselolikhina had an argument with Rae on Tuesday over testing that the school was administering to students “and about not receiving acknowledgement and recognition he felt was owed.” The following day, Tselolikhina received a text at around 2 p.m. from Rae, telling her to meet in his office after the dean of instruction didn’t show up to school the whole day, and didn't inform anyone he was going to be absent.Once in the office, Rae reportedly pulled a black handgun from his waistband and placed the gun on the counter. Rae then said, “Try and f—k with me. You shouldn’t have said what you said. I don’t want to hurt you. I’m going to hurt all the people around you,” according to the affidavit. He then said he was going to “shoot the kneecaps off of Jessica and Denise.” Jessica Rodriguez is an assistant principal at the school and Denise Huber is another dean of instruction. The probable cause statement notes he then asked the principal what she was going to do about it. "I came prepared,” Rae allegedly told Tselolikhina before he patted his pocket adding that “he had two extra rounds.” Rae then told the principal to walk away or he would “shoot the next person outside the door,” police documents state. As he made the statement, there was a knock on the door. Rae then reportedly picked up the gun and placed it back into his waistband and answered the door. On the other side were two students and the report states Rae had a brief talk with them. It does not state, however, what the dean of instruction told the students. Tselolikhina then left Rae’s office and began to place the school on lockdown, according to the affidavit. The incident “prompted a large scale police call for service and numerous officers responded to the school,” the probable cause statement states. Investigators said one of the responding officers talked with the principal while another was on the phone with the suspect, who did not initially tell the officer where he was. Rae then told the officer that some of the school staff had been harassing him, but the suspect did not provide further details to the officer during their conversation. According to the affidavit, Rae also admitted to sending text messages earlier “that he should not have sent,” but it’s unclear what the content of those message was, as the suspect did not provide further details to police. The probable cause statement states Rae “expressed concern” about the school being on lockdown and told the officer on the phone he wanted the lockdown lifted so the soccer team could play a game scheduled for later that day. The suspect then told the officer he was at his house and police went to his address, where they found a Remington handgun and three magazines in Rae’s bedroom cabinet. He was arrested and held on a bond on suspicion of felony menacing and misdemeanor interference with staff, faculty, or students of educational institutions, but posted pond and was released before he was able to be issued a restraining order. His bonding out caused Aurora Police to send officers to Aurora West College Preparatory Academy as well as the homes of school staff to make sure they were safe. Rae was then booked into Denver’s Downtown Detention Center on Thursday on a fugitive of justice hold from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. Initial communications to parents didn’t tell the whole story Communications to parents following the lockdown on Wednesday told a different story about what took place inside the school as hundreds of kids were still in class.
