The jury in the trial of former Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort did not reach a verdict after its first full day of deliberations.Just before 5 p.m. ET, jurors sent a note to Judge T.S. The Los Angeles Police Department says an investigation is underway after a man attacked and robbed three transgender women in Hollywood on Monday.KTLA-TV in Los Angeles said police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.Video of a portion of the assault was widely shared on social media. It shows the suspect assaulting the women and also demanding clothing and jewelry from them.According to the LAPD, the man went up to one of the victims with a metal bar and told her to give him her shoes and bracelet. He then grabbed her hand and walked with her for a short distance before she was able to escape.Later, police say the suspect attacked one of the woman's friends with a bottle, knocking her to the ground.The suspect also allegedly made derogatory remarks about the victims' sexual identity during the attack.LAPD shared a photo of the suspect in the hopes of tracking him down. 902

The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo declared an outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever, a rare and deadly disease, on Tuesday, the World Health Organization reported. The declaration came after laboratory results confirmed two cases of the disease in the province of Bikoro."Our top priority is to get to Bikoro to work alongside the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and partners to reduce the loss of life and suffering related to this new Ebola virus disease outbreak," said Dr Peter Salama, WHO Deputy Director-General, Emergency Preparedness and Response. The lawyer for one of the women suing President Donald Trump for defamation is seeking recordings of "The Apprentice" from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.Former "Apprentice" contestant Summer Zervos filed a lawsuit against Trump in January 2017, in which she alleged that Trump defamed her in 2016 after she said he sexually assaulted her in 2007.Her lawyer, Mariann Wang, is also seeking hotel records from the Beverly Hills Hotel."We are gathering evidence that will prove that (the) defendant lied when he falsely denigrated Ms. Zervos and denied sexually assaulting her," Wang said.MGM owns the archives of "The Apprentice" and Wang wants the company to hand over all documents, video or audio that feature Zervos or Trump talking about Zervos and any recording in which Trump speaks of women in a sexual or inappropriate manner.Zervos' attorney also wants to depose an MGM representative to inquire about how recordings of "The Apprentice" are stored and maintained, who has access to them, and when if ever they were transferred or destroyed.The subpoena asks for "(a)ll video and audio recordings that include Donald J. The House of Representatives on Thursday approved a two-week extension for a government funding deadline in an effort to avert a partial government shutdown this week but setting the stage for a partial one on December 21.The stop-gap measure, which the Senate is also expected to pass, pushes the deadline for when funding will expire for several government agencies from December 7 to December 21 -- setting up a showdown over spending just days before Christmas.Lawmakers came together to pass the funding extension after the death of George H.W.
