The Food and Drug Administration resisted pressure from the Trump administration on Tuesday by releasing a set of guidelines that could push an emergency use authorization of a coronavirus vaccine past Election Day.The FDA’s new guidance notes that an Oct. 22 meeting of its Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee will not be to discuss specific vaccine candidates. He ended his interview with a quick "Ho, ho, ho" as he hung up the phone.He said you'd never know that many of the children he's met had lost their homes."Most of them are smiling," he said, though he does have to win over the occasional crier. "They are astounding."The kids' basic needs have been taken care off, thanks to FEMA and the generosity of the community, Hoskins said, so they're asking Santa for dirt bikes, iPhones, Paw Patrol toys and something called L.O.L Surprise dolls.But many of them do ask for something that Santa can't give -- a home."I usually say 'I can't do this in a year. The confirmation hearing for Supreme Court Nominee Amy Coney Barrett are officially scheduled to begin October 12 at 9 a.m.The head of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Lindsey Graham, announced this start date in the days following Barrett’s confirmation. However, there were questions after three Republicans on the committee reported they tested positive for the coronavirus in the last few days.They are Senators Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Mike Lee of Utah.After a day of opening statements from committee members and Barrett herself, questioning of the nominee will begin October 13.
