A tourist was stabbed while playing slots Monday at the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas.It happened shortly after 1 a.m. A man, who was visiting from another country with his brother, was approached by another man who asked him for a cigarette.The man then stabbed the tourist in his side with warning or provocation.The victim's brother chased the suspect but was unable to catch him.The suspect was later spotted by security guards at Four Queens. They called 911. A patrol unit then spotted the suspect near Fremont Street and Maryland Parkway and arrested him.The victim was transported to a local hospital and expected to be discharged later today, according to Watch Commander Lt. A pre-teen's basketball shot from beyond the arc was good for more than just a few points in Springfield.Springfield police say a group of ten-to-twelve-year-old kids helped them catch a suspected burglar on the run. It all started after officers responded to a call for a burglary. Police say they received reports that a 50-year-old male had just broken into a garage and stole several items, including two weed trimmers before taking off on a bike. He dropped the lawn tools after encountering police and rode awat. According to a post from the Springfield Police Department, the first officer followed him in his patrol car until backup arrived and started chasing him on foot.That's where the young All-Stars come into play.  Police say the kids were playing basketball nearby and one of them "threw a basketball across the roadway at the suspect, striking him, causing him to wreck his bicycle in the grass."Officers were then able to book the suspect into custody for burglary.  1033

A request from children is changing the future of LEGO kits. The company announced they will be phasing out their single-use plastic bags used to separate parts of their kits beginning next year.“We have received many letters from children about the environment asking us to remove single-use plastic packaging. We have been exploring alternatives for some time and the passion and ideas from children inspired us to begin to make the change,” stated CEO Niels Christiansen in a company release.The toymaker has set a goal of making all of their packaging sustainable by the end of 2025. Beginning in 2021, they will look at using recyclable paper bags in their kits.Testing has already taken place, and LEGO says kids liked the paper bags because they were environmentally friendly and easy to open.Other LEGO products will be getting an environmentally friendly makeover in the future, too. A report says three Milwaukee Police officers were suspended for varying lengths after the arrest (involving a Taser) of Milwaukee Bucks player Sterling Brown.The Journal Sentinel says that the first police officer who confronted Brown on January 26 outside a Walgreens on Milwaukee's south side was suspended for two days.The report says two supervising officers who came to the scene later received 15 and 10 day suspensions, while other officers were reprimanded.Their names were not initially divulged.
