SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diegans posted images and updates about the fierce Valley Fire burning out of control in the Japatul Valley on Saturday night.Photos and videos shot from various locations around San Diego show a large ominous plume of smoke over the county. Others show videos of flames near the scene of the fire, and at least one local resident miles away from the fire documented ash falling from the sky.As of late Saturday night, fire officials said the blaze has scorched about 1,500 acres. Crews continue to battle the fire under harsh conditions, including strong winds and high heat. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are searching for a man with autism and epilepsy who hasn't been seen since he left home Sunday.Guillermo Gradilla has a history of running away, his family said. In the past, he has traveled to Mexico and Los Angeles looking for relatives. On Monday, the Metropolitan Transit System cited Gradilla for fare evasion near 750 E St., Chula Vista. Gradilla is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Gavin Newsom said during a news conference that the county could be dropped from the list by Tuesday.Sunday, Aug. 16, was the fifth consecutive day San Diego County reported fewer than 100 positive coronavirus tests.State and county officials have said counties would be removed from the monitoring list if rates remain below 100 positive cases per 100,000 people for three straight days.Of the state's 58 counties, 42 remain on that list; five counties were added, with Santa Cruz County falling off Aug. 14."This is a dynamic list. People come on, people come off, the numbers shift every single week," Newsom said Monday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Fire-Rescue responded after a man reportedly got his hand stuck in an industrial tortilla press Thursday night.According to the department, the incident happened just after 5:30 at Tortillera La Perla on the 3100 block of National Avenue in San Diego.The man has been carried out of the factory, but a piece of the equipment is reportedly still stuck to the man's hand. His condition is unclear at this time. Also unclear is how the man got his hand stuck in the press. 507
