A video of a Missoula, Montana Pita Pit employee spitting in a customer's food during what appears to be an argument has gone viral, prompting the restaurant to issue an apology. The video was posted early Saturday morning, and has since been shared more than 5,000 times. The video, which lasts 30 seconds, appears to be during the middle of an argument over the store's hours. In the video, one of the customers apparently dared the employee to spit in the food. Once the employee spit in the food, a customer jumped over the counter briefly. The owner of the Missoula Pita Pit location issued a statement on its Facebook account. "There is no excuse whatsoever for the type of behavior shown by an employee that I can assure you is no longer working for us," the statement read. "This is an owner run store. We work here forty plus hours per week, but we are not in during all hours of operation. This employee’s behavior does not represent who we are as a family or a business. A new health hazard is washing up on shores around the world.“They found a lot of it in Italy. They found a lot of PPE in beaches of Japan and Southeast Asia,” said senior scientist Jennifer Brandon, Ph.D. about personal protective equipment, or PPE. “We’re already finding thousands of gloves and masks as the pandemic continues.” Brandon believes more people are using and also improperly disposing of these single-use plastics and says the litter can last several lifetimes.“I would not be shocked if it’s going to be in the hundreds of thousands in gloves and masks in the next years,” she said.Brandon says with grocery stores no longer allowing reusable bags and restaurants serving to-go orders in Styrofoam containers, this is adding to the problem.This swell of plastic pollution has a chain effect, impacting animals and humans.“That plastic is going to get eaten by animals and those animals are what you eat,” Brandon said. “Sometimes it can break down small enough, it even gets into our water supply and sea salts.”Experts say 30 billion pounds of disposable plastic is dumped into the ocean every year. Now, that number is expected to rise even more due to PPE waste.“We expect that plastic pollution will outweigh fish in the ocean if we don’t take care quick action to prevent that from happening,” said Shelley Luce, president of Heal the Bay, a nonprofit with the mission of keeping water clear and clean.“We do beach clean ups year-round and we generally get 700 to 800 people coming out early on a Saturday morning,” she said.With social distancing orders and many beaches closed due to COVID-19, large group gatherings are no longer allowed in some areas.So, Luce is now encouraging people to clean up what she calls “COVID waste” on their own or within their social bubble.“You can do a cleanup in your neighborhood,” she said. “Pick that trash up off the streets because you know where that's going to go, into a storm drain and out into the ocean.”Luce says there are simple solutions for this worldwide problem: properly dispose of PPE or wear a cloth mask, both of which can help stop the spread of coronavirus without creating an environmental hazard. 2187

A man wanted in connection with a quadruple murder in Detroit has shot himself, according to police. George Anthony Davis, 27, shot himself near the Ohio Turnpike after leading police on a chase.Police said Davis shot and killed three people, a man and two women, at a gas station iin Detroit Monday morning. The male victim was identified as Deacon Ralphael Hall, leader at a local church, his 26-year-old daughter Cierra Bargineer and 21-year-old Kristen Thomas.Police say surveillance cameras captured everything; a man pulled up in a silver sedan and started talking to people in a gray Dodge SUV. Seconds later, the man in the sedan shot the people in the SUV and shot at the man pumping gas.When he ran out of bullets, he went back to his car to reload, and came back to shoot more. Police say Bargineer was the mother of his child.Second Shooting LocationHe then gets in the car and goes to Faust Street and has a conversation with an adult male cousin and fatally shoots him, police said.  The suspect then goes to a gas station on Faust and takes a 2007 blue Nissan Ultima.Davis was on the run for several hours before police confirmed that he shot himself. A total of 13 people linked to a militia group have been charged by the federal government and the state of Michigan in to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.Six men — Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta — were charged by the federal government, according to a criminal complaint from the FBI. Croft is from Delaware; the rest are Michigan residents.Additionally, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that seven other people, linked to the Michigan-based militia group "Wolverine Watchmen" have been charged by the state in relation to the plot.According to the FBI's complaint, the militia attempted to recruit members for the operation, which included storming the Capitol building in Lansing and taking hostages, including Whitmer.The suspects, now under arrest, are alleged to have called on the groups’ members to identify the home addresses of law enforcement officers in order to target them; made threats of violence to instigate a civil war leading to societal collapse; and engaged in the planning and training for an operation to attack the state Capitol building and kidnap government officials, including Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.In total, 19 state felony charges were filed by the Attorney General against seven individuals known to be members of the militia group, Wolverine Watchmen or associates of Wolverine Watchmen.The plan was reportedly supposed to be executed before the November 2020 election.The militia group reportedly held several meetings over the summer, where they participated in firearms training and combat drills.According to the complaint, they also attempted to build IED devices, which were faulty and did not detonate as planned.The group then reportedly decided to abduct the governor at her vacation home in western Michigan and take her to a secure location in Wisconsin for "trial."In August, federal officials say the group allegedly conducted surveillance of her home on two occasions.On Wednesday night, the FBI and Michigan State Police spent hours raiding a home in Hartland, Michigan — a town about an hour west of Detroit — on Wednesday night, which continued into the early morning of Thursday.The house is located on Lansing Avenue in Hartland Meadows near M-59 in Livingston County.Several Michigan State Police vehicles, including their SWAT team, were also on scene alongside FBI agents. Some officers were dressed in camo gear carrying guns.
