SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) -- Kelley Keatly and her husband were walking in their San Marcos neighborhood Wednesday morning when something caught their attention.They noticed a red sticker stuck to an electrical box. When they looked closer, they saw a message of hate, one that read: “The symbol of white resistance.”The sticker included a link to a website filled with hatred - towards Jews, African Americans, and the LGBTQ community.ABC 10News is not identifying the group.“Really I just see it as an act of pure evil, and it has no place in my community, it has no place in any community,” Keatly said.Keatly took the sticker and posted an image of it on a neighborhood Facebook page. Melissa Burgess saw the post and then found four - on electric boxes and traffic lights, including ones near San Elijo Elementary and Middle schools, where her children attend.“I came home, I was shaking just from anger and pain and hurt and just all of that from having seen that here in my community,” she said.Then, even more neighbors found the stickers, including on the back of Stop signs.The stickers come after a recent spate of hate-inspired incidents in the county, including people wearing swastika face masks to grocery stores, and another driving with a Nazi flag.Tammy Gillies, who heads the San Diego Anti-Defamation League, says it’s vital to report all incidents.“You have one person that can be radicalized on the Internet, one person that is drawn to look at a website through these fliers or these stickers and goes down a wrong path, so it is very concerning,” Gillies said.She alluded to last year's deadly shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue, allegedly carried out by a 19-year-old radicalized online.The Sheriff's Department says a total of seven stickers were located. (KGTV) - Southern California cities affected by the Thomas fire were evacuated Wednesday morning due to the threat of mudslides from an approaching storm.The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office issued a Recommended Evacuation Warning at 8 a.m. for the Thomas, Sherpa and Whittier burn areas in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria.A National Weather Service report indicated the area may receive moderate to heavy rainfall from a storm arriving Thursday that may generate mud and debris flows.RELATED: Local crew saves family from Montecito?mudslideThere is a high risk for loss of life and property, the SBCSO said. SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - Several people in a San Marcos gated community have reported being targets of package thieves, according to one victim who spoke with 10News. The Sheriff's Department is looking at surveillance video, which appears to provide several leads.Mikayla Manos says a package was sent to her home on Almond Drive Friday.  Manos is a mentor for foster children. The package contained the personal items of one of those children, which she was asked to deliver to him.  When Manos arrived home, she did not see the package.Manos checked with her next-door neighbor, who has a surveillance camera. Video from Friday afternoon shows a girl walking past Manos' home. She turns and points toward Manos' porch and can be heard saying "get it".The video shows what appears to be a boy picking something up from Manos' porch, although the package cannot be clearly seen from the camera angle. At least two voices can be heard off camera. One is heard saying "I can't wait to wear these to school tomorrow." Manos says clothes are among the items stolen.Manos says she knows of at least three other neighbors who were victims.  10News spotted an empty Nordstrom bag ripped open on one neighbor's porch, while another neighbor tells 10News someone stole items from his garage when he briefly left it open around the same time.Several package boxes were found dumped nearby, including Manos'. SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- Two people are dead and multiple others are injured following a church stabbing in San Jose, California late Sunday.Police say the stabbing happened at Grace Baptist Church. SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) — City officials in San Marcos held a ground-breaking ceremony Wednesday for a 0-million infrastructure project, designed to mitigate flooding.The project will help manage flooding along the San Marcos Creek using two new bridges and channelize parts of the creek. One bridge will be on Brent Avenue and the other will be on Via Vera Cruz. Both bridges will also include bike and pedestrian paths.
