SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A group of local doctors slammed San Diego's Board of Supervisors for not denouncing reported intimidation of the county's public health officer.The San Diego County Medical Society issued a statement, saying they are, "extremely disappointed by the failure of the Members of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors to stand up against the personal abuse, attempted intimidation and doxing of our County Public Health Officer, Dr. Wilma Wooten."SDCMS pointed specifically to public testimony at the BOS' hearing on Tuesday, during which a caller revealed Wooten's address. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -  A driver led CHP officers on an hour-long pursuit from Southern Orange County to Mission Valley Wednesday night.The chase ended on the onramp from southbound I-805 to westbound I-8.Ray Scheidnes, with California Highway Patrol, says the chase started in the San Juan Capistrano area when they received reports of someone driving erratically just after 6:30 p.m.When they tried to pull over the driver, she instead drove south on I-5 into San Diego County and eventually onto I-8.  The driver even called into 9-1-1 dispatch and tried to explain why she wasn't stopping.“I believe that she was afraid to pull over, mentioned something about possibly having some previous run-ins with law enforcement that she didn't think went too well,” Scheidnes said.Scheidnes also added they’re not quite sure why she eventually stopped in Mission Valley.“The vehicle didn't seem to run out of gas or have any mechanical problems, just came to a stop, I think she just decided to pull over,” he said.CHP says the driver is an Orange County resident. She has not been identified. There are no immediate signs of drugs or alcohol, but she could be facing charges of resisting arrest and failure to yield.  1247

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Supervisor Nathan Fletcher and Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez will be under a 14-day quarantine after having close contact with someone who tested positive for coronavirus, Fletcher said Thursday.The pair said they have tested negative for the virus and that they’ve had no symptoms, but that they will follow public health guidance to quarantine for 14 days."We were notified today that we have had close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A driver died Wednesday following a two-car crash at what a Clairemont resident describes as a known trouble spot for traffic. The crash happened about 1 p.m. at the intersection of Genesee Avenue and Chateau Drive, south of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. “Hit so hard it sounded like an explosion,” said Bonnie Alexander, who has lived in a home at the intersection for some 40 years. RELATED: Neighbors want help after crashes at dangerous intersection in El CajonAlexander ran outside to help, first stopping to check on the driver of the black Tesla that hit her brick retaining wall. “We went to the other to car, to that driver; he took his last breath. He’s no longer with us,” said Alexander. The man's identity was not immediately released.Alexander’s home has been struck by cars five times. She’s hoping to get a guardrail at the location. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two women were arrested and nine people were detained Friday morning following a break-in at a nearby liquor store, police said.Dispatchers received a call shortly before 3:30 a.m. from a person who reported seeing video of people breaking into the Valley Liquor store in the 1200 block of Hotel Circle, San Diego police Officer Scott Lockwood said.Officers responded to the scene and learned the suspects were possibly in a room at a nearby hotel, Lockwood said.They went to contact the suspects at the hotel room and ended up detaining 11 people for questioning.One male detained became unruly with officers and was placed into the back of an SDPD vehicle, where he continued to act out.Two women were eventually arrested on suspicion of burglary, but their names and ages were not available, Lockwood said. 835
