SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities reached out to the public today for help in identifying two thieves who robbed a 19-year-old woman at Fashion Valley mall two weeks ago.The pair, a man and woman who appeared to be in their 20s or early 30s, grabbed the victim from behind as she was walking through a parking structure at the Friars Road shopping center shortly before 2 p.m. Aug. 10, according to San Diego police.As the man pressed a sharp object -- believed to have been a knife -- to the victim's back, his cohort demanded her cellphone and other property, then tried to pull a lanyard from around her neck.The victim slapped the other woman's hand away, preventing her from stealing the strap, but the man was able to yank a pair of Apple AirPods from the victim's ears. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man smashed a display case at a Mira Mesa jewelry store and stole several necklaces, police said Tuesday.The theft was reported shortly after 6:50 p.m. Monday at Daniel's Jewelers in the shopping center near Mira Mesa Boulevard and Camino Ruiz, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.A man entered the store and smashed a glass display case with a hammer, Buttle said, adding that the thief did not threaten the employee.The thief then grabbed several necklaces from the display case and fled in an unknown direction, the officer said.The suspect was described as a 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10 Black man in his late 20s. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A woman robbed a San Diego vape and smoke shop at gunpoint and was later arrested, authorities said Saturday.It happened just before 10 p.m. Friday at the shop at 3094 National Avenue, according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.The woman walked in, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money, Heims said. She took an unknown amount of money and fled eastbound on National Avenue.Officers located the suspect a few hours later near South 32nd Street and arrested her, he said.The suspect was identified as Jeanette Sarmiento, 37, Heims said. 579
