When approaching someone about their views on COVID-19, and their habits, he said it’s best to remain calm and open-minded.“It is throwing everyone for a loop,” Stanfield said, “So instead of saying that you’re really getting worked up about this, that’s probably not the best initial approach. It may be ‘I can see that this is really upsetting to you, can you tell me a little bit more about that?'”He said trying to understand, before attempting to be understood, is a good starting place. “Am I willing to consider their perspective, or am I in this to prove them wrong? Which in the end gets us nowhere in all of this, so I think those basic things are really important and critical.”If you know why someone’s habits are a certain way, it’s possible to compromise.“I know some people say compromise is a dirty word, in this case, I think compromise really gets at the fact that I’m wanting to meet someone or be a part of someone’s life the best I can," Stanfield said.If the social awkwardness persists, a ton of people is going to therapy to sort it out right now.“I sometimes equate therapy to taking your car in to get an oil change. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday released a new proposal that includes .2 trillion in spending, and sends direct payment of ,200 to most Americans.The proposal still costs more than the White House has said it would like, but is down from the .4 trillion stimulus plan House Democrats passed back in May.In addition to another set of ,200 direct payments to millions of Americans, House Democrats propose using 5 million for education, more funding for the struggling airline industry, and 6 million for local governments. The set of proposals would also include a 0 per week unemployment supplement, which expired at the end of July.“This .2 trillion Heroes Act provides the absolutely needed resources to protect lives, livelihoods and the life of our democracy over the coming months,” Pelosi said in a letter to House Democrats. “It includes new funding needed to avert catastrophe for schools, small businesses, restaurants, performance spaces, airline workers and others.”Last week, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin confirmed that he and Pelosi agreed to relaunch negotiations on a stimulus plan.Earlier this month, Senate Republicans attempted to pass a “slimmed down” stimulus bill with a cost of 0 billion. In a move to advance high-quality enterprise journalism, the Scripps Howard Foundation today announced a million investment into the creation of two centers for investigative journalism.Arizona State University and the University of Maryland will each receive million over three years from the Scripps Howard Foundation to establish a Howard Center for Investigative Journalism at their institutions.The Howard Centers will be multidisciplinary, graduate-level programs focused on training the next generation of reporters through hands-on investigative journalism projects.
