The moderators for the 2020 presidential and vice presidential debates have been announced.The Commission on Presidential Debates announced the moderators Wednesday morning for the events this fall.Chris Wallace, a host on Fox News, will moderate the first debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden on September 29. It will be held at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. This debate was originally scheduled to take place at the University of Notre Dame, however they withdrew citing coronavirus pandemic concerns.Vice President Mike Pence will debate Senator Kamala Harris, the democratic vice presidential candidate, on October 7 in a debate moderated by Susan Page, the Washington Bureau Chief at USA Today. The one and only vice presidential debate will be held at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.Trump and Biden will face-off again on October 15, moderated by Steve Scully who is a political editor at C-SPAN, and on October 22 moderated by Kristen Welker, White House correspondent for NBC News.The October 15 event will be held in Miami, after the University of Michigan withdrew citing coronavirus pandemic concerns. This debate format will be more like a “town meeting,” according to the commission and agreed to by both parties. Questions will be asked of both candidates by citizens in South Florida.The last scheduled presidential debate is planned for Belmont University in Nashville.At this time, all four debates are scheduled for 90 minutes. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for sections of the Gulf Coast as Louisiana and Texas prepares for a second tropical system this week.Tropical Storm Laura, which had top winds of 65 MPH as of 11 p.m. ET Monday, is expected to turn into the Gulf of Mexico and strengthen into a hurricane. The potential hurricane is expected to hit either the Texas or Louisiana coast late Wednesday.A hurricane watch is in effect from Port Bolivar, Texas, to west of Morgan City, Louisiana. A tropical storm watch is in effect from south of Port Bolivar, Texas, to San Luis Pass, Texas, and from Morgan City, Louisiana to the Mouth of the Mississippi River.As of Monday morning, Laura was dumping heavy rain on both Cuba and Jamaica. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storms could cause mudslides and urban flash floods on the islands.Laura has already caused the deaths of at least 11 people in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, while knocking out power and causing flooding Sunday.Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Marco, made landfall along the Louisiana coast Monday evening, according to the National Hurricane Center, as a minimal tropical storm. It weakened from hurricane all the way to a depression on Monday. All tropical storm warnings have been dropped in associated with Marco.Marco was recording maximum sustained winds of 35 mph as of late Monday evening. The man accused of killing 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida earlier this year reportedly attacked a detention officer inside a Florida jail Wednesday morning.WTVJ-TV in Miami spoke to the Broward County Sheriff's office in Miami, who confirmed that Nikolas Cruz attacked and injured a detention officer at the Broward County Jail Wednesday morning. The condition of the injured officer is unknown.Cruz is the suspected shooter in the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, where 17 students and teachers were killed. Cruz was charged with 34 counts of premeditated murder and attempted murder in March and is currently awaiting trial.  752
