PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Md. -- A man was stabbed to death Monday at a Maryland Popeyes after what appears to have been an argument over the restaurant's re-released chicken sandwich, police said.The victim, a 28-year-old man, was stabbed outside the restaurant around 7p.m., Prince George's County Police spokeswoman Jennifer Donelan said at a news conference Monday. In response, the union representing Southwest Airlines' pilots is suing Boeing for misleading pilots about the aircraft. The union claims misrepresented the airworthiness of the aircraft. The union also claims that two deadly crashes involving the 737 MAX have "damaged the critical bond between pilots and passengers." "As pilots, there is nothing more important to us than the safety of our passengers," said Captain Jonathan L. Weaks, President of SWAPA. "We have to be able to trust Boeing to truthfully disclose the information we need to safely operate our aircraft. In the case of the 737 MAX, that absolutely did not happen."On March 13, 2019, the U.S. Department of Transportation ordered a review of the aircraft, which essentially forced airlines to ground the craft. They have over 100,000 rocks from space.Charis Krysher, a Lunar Curation Processor for NASA, says moon rocks and space dust are the most important thing brought back to Earth.“One of the first things that we learned from the Apollo collection was how old the moon the Earth was,” Krysher says.Rocks on Earth aren’t pristine like they are on the Moon. Moon rocks don’t age, because there is no atmosphere in space to break down the rocks. The rocks found on the moon can potentially be billions of years old. “More recently we've actually learned in the past, less than a decade, that the Moon's rocks actually contain way more water than was originally realized,” the processor explains. Just like famous diamonds and jewels, there are well known space rocks, too. Like the one found by Apollo 15. “They named it the Genesis Rock, because it’s a part of the primordial crust of the moon,” she says.When studying these samples, scientists take all the precautions, from wearing bunny suits, temperature-controlled rooms and even triple bagging each rock for storing."We try really hard to preserve the rocks so that the science that we learn from the rocks can be trusted," Krysher says.It’s not every day we go to the Moon, so these scientists take time to study the rocks and do it sparingly. They are still breaking rocks over 40 years old. However, come five years from now, they’ll get another chance for more rocks when U.S. astronauts head to the moon in 2024. 1796

Sexually transmitted diseases are on the rise across the country. A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found combined cases of syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia reached an all-time high in the United States in 2018.In Humboldt County, California, health officials say sexually transmitted diseases have been on the rise for five years in a row. “We went from 434 chlamydia cases in 2014 to 790 in 2018,” said Hava Phillips of Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services. “But last year, we saw sharper spike in HIV and syphilis.”We’re learning Humboldt County’s STD statistics mirror national numbers. According to the CDC, from 2017 to 2018, gonorrhea cases increased 5 percent to more than 580,000 cases.During the same time, reported chlamydia cases increased 3 percent to more than 1.7 million cases – that’s the most ever reported to CDC.And perhaps the most concerning number: syphilis cases among newborns increased 40 percent to more than 1,300 cases.“No one has boyfriends and girlfriends anymore; it’s like major hook up culture,” one Humboldt County man said. “That could be one reason why we are having higher STDs now.” With the reasons ranging from more people getting tested to fewer people using condoms, cuts to public health services and online dating are thought to be a big factors as well.“We are seeing changes cultural attitudes towards sex,” Phillips said. “We are seeing the availability of things like social networking applications that allow for meeting anonymous partners more easily.”To help slow down the spread of STDs, Humboldt County Health is spreading their message both online and in person with coasters warning people about the increase in STDs. “The idea was to make sure that people were aware that we were seeing an increase in syphilis cases and they can protect themselves better,” Phillips said.
