NEW YORK (AP) — A judge has denied President Donald Trump's request that the United States replace him as the defendant in a defamation lawsuit that alleges that he raped a woman in a Manhattan luxury department store in the 1990s.The decision Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old who was arrested in connection to Wednesday's mass school shooting that left 17 dead, walked to a nearby McDonald's and Walmart after the massacre, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said. According to Israel, Cruz tried to blend in with students evacuating the school after he allegedly committed the shootings. He then walked to a Walmart and bought a beverage from the Subway restaurant inside the store. Investigators believe that he then walked to a McDonald's and spent 40 minutes inside before leaving. Cruz was then caught by local police walking alongside a road. New data shows that those who use Duolingo — a popular language app — can learn the equivalent of four semesters of university study. The app is free for all, and parents and teachers say it is a good supplement for students of all ages who are learning from home this fall.Averill, 10, is quite the Duolingo master. Her Spanish teacher recommended the app to pair with her in class lessons a few years back. Averill took that one step further.She's currently learning Korean. When she masters that, it will be her third language."My dad is Korean, and so my grandparents speak Korean," Averill said.
