The Cumberland, Wisconsin High School Class of 2018 got a special shout out from the local police department on an epic senior prank.The police department said on Facebook it was "one of the best senior pranks that Cumberland High School has seen."Students positioned an old junker strewn with loose bricks in front of what appeared to be a gaping black hole in the building's side, just outside the principal's office.It wasn't actually a hole, though. Using tape and a black tarp, the students created the illusion of damage, making it look like the car crashed into the side of the building. The back of the car said, "CHS Class of 2018."The best part? The Commission on Presidential Debates announced that they've officially canceled the Oct. 15 debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.In a press release, the commission stated that since both candidates made different arrangements for Oct. 15, the commission will focus on the third and final presidential debate, which is slated for Oct. 22."Subject to health security considerations, and in accordance with all required testing, masking, social distancing, and other protocols, the debate will take place at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee," the commission said in the press release.The move to a virtual debate was as a precaution since Trump tested positive for COVID-19 last week.Trump was airlifted to Walter Reed Medical Center last Friday and then discharged from Walter Reed on Monday.According to the Associated Press, The White House has been mum about releasing any information as to when the president last tested negative for the virus.Trump told Fox Business that he would not "waste his time" with a virtual debate.CNN reported that because of Trump backing out and Biden agreeing to do a town hall with ABC, the commission didn't see the Oct. 15 debate likely happening.NPR reported that another reason behind the cancelation was because the Trump campaign and the commission couldn't agree on safety protocols.The Oct. 22 debate will be divided into six 15-minute segments. The Food and Drug Administration is investigating an outbreak of Listeria that has killed at least one person.The FDA, CDC and public health officials are looking into ten cases of Listeria monocytogenes infections reported in Florida, Massachusetts and New York. One person has died, the only available information is that the person lived in Florida.Genome sequencing of the Listeria bacteria isolated from those infected shows the ten people in this outbreak are more likely to share a common source of infection, according to the FDA. Samples were taken from patients between August 6 and October 3.In interviews with nine of the infected people, they all reported eating Italian-style meats recently, like salami, mortadella, or prosciutto, according to the FDA.Public health investigators have not found a common type of deli meat or common supplier among the patients at this time.The patients in this outbreak range in age from 40-to-89 years old, and all of them needed to be hospitalized.Listeria can cause different symptoms, depending on the person and part of the body affected, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC is recommending Americans not travel for Thanksgiving during the current spike in coronavirus cases nationwide.“As cases continue to increase rapidly across the United States, the safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving is to celebrate at home with the people you live with,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website reads. “Travel may increase your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. Postponing travel and staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others this year.”This is the strongest urging from the health agency, which is part of the Health and Human Services Department, asking Americans to take stricter precautions to slow the spread of the coronavirus.There are more than 11 million reported cases of COVID-19 in this country since the pandemic started, and more than 250,000 Americans have died."We're seeing exponential growth in cases," CDC COVID-19 incident manager Dr. Henry Walke said during a press briefing. "The opportunity to translocate disease or infection from one part of the country to another leads to our recommendation to avoid travel at this time."If people are still planning to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, the CDC has a series of questions on their website for travelers and family members to consider before going ahead with travel plans.Questions include: Are you, someone in your household, or someone you will be visiting at increased risk for getting very sick from COVID-19? The former chief administrative officer for the Department of Housing and Urban Development says she was demoted in part for refusing to spend more than was legally allowed to redecorate Secretary Ben Carson's new office.In a November 2017 complaint obtained by CNN, Helen Foster said she was told to "find money" beyond the legal ,000 limit for redecorating. In one instance, she says a supervisor said that ",000 will not even buy a decent chair."Foster's sworn complaint with the Office of Special Counsel, the independent agency charged with investigating whistleblower complaints made by government employees, says that after she refused to misuse taxpayer dollars for the office redecoration project she was "retaliated against by being taken out of my position as Chief Administrative Officer."She says that HUD's Acting Secretary Craig Clemmensen pulled her aside more than a month before Carson's March confirmation and told her that Carson's wife, Candy, wanted to "help the Secretary redecorate his office suite." Clemmensen asked Foster to assist with "getting Mrs. Carson access and funds for the project," the complaint states.Foster said she told Clemmensen that legally, the department was limited in how much it could spend on the office redecorating project to ,000, information she says she also passed along to the administrative officer in the Secretary's office. But even so, Foster said she received repeated pressure in multiple conversations to "find money" for the redecorating project in excess of what was legally allowed, including in a one-on-one meeting on February 10.
