SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A body was found today alongside Interstate 5 in Sherman Heights.A 911 caller reported the discovery next to the northbound lanes of the freeway near Island Avenue about 11:45 a.m. according to the San Diego Police Department. (AP) — A lawsuit filed by the Satanic Temple alleges an advertising company unfairly refused to display billboards promoting a ritual offered by the group to help people bypass abortion rules in some states. The group, based in Salem, Massachusetts, announced Wednesday that it sued Lamar Advertising in Arkansas state court for alleged religious discrimination. The Louisiana-based company did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Satanic Temple says Lamar refused to display eight billboards in Arkansas and Indiana promoting what the group calls its “religious abortion ritual.” The Satanic Temple describes the ritual as a “sacramental act that confirms the right of bodily autonomy.”By performing the ritual, the group says, people can claim a religious exemption from mandatory waiting periods, counseling, ultrasounds and other measures that some states require before an abortion can be performed.The group says it submitted five designs to Lamar to be displayed near crisis pregnancy centers. SALT LAKE CITY — A 15-year-old boy has died from his injuries after he became trapped in a car that flipped into the Jordan River Canal late Saturday night.The 20-year-old driver and two kids escaped the car before emergency crews arrived, but the 15-year-old and a two-year-old remained trapped in the vehicle.Family identified the victim as Justin Bates. His uncle says the teen made it out of the car safely before going back into the water in an attempt to rescue the little girl.“He was good hearted. SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Zoo has two new arrivals: a pair of endangered African penguin chicks.The zoo announced Wednesday that the fluffy chicks, named Doug and Barbara, hatched two months ago.The eggs came from two breeding couples. The zoo says it's the first time eggs laid by its adult penguins have hatched there.Staff has been working with the chicks to get them used to humans before they are introduced into the penguin colony in the next few weeks.African penguins are an endangered species.
