A Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee in 2017, former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner revealed he thought about making a return to the NFL in 2018.During a baseball game in St. Louis on Monday, the 46-year-old Warner said he reached out to a team about possibly returning for the 2018 season, a good eight-plus years after his most recent NFL appearance."I was actually ready to (return) for this coming season," Warner said. "I actually talked to a coach, and my wife said, 'Go for it, I think it would be great.' Not because of a winning horse show, but because of a winning chase behind a fleeing racehorse.One of the best racehorses from the 4H at Andover Farms broke free from her halter and galloped down Aviation Blvd during a 20-minute pursuit in Glen Burnie, Maryland.Sixteen-year-old Caroline Shoults was getting ready for her next class in the show when she heard the announcement regarding the runaway horse. Without hesitation, Shoults took a leap of bravery to chase her down."I live by this life quote, 'do for others as you would want to be done for you' and it has got me into quite the situation," said Shoults. "And I tried to control myself and just stay focused, I was about to walk in the rain, and I spun around and took off through the horses in the showground." Followed by two adults who immediately jumped into a vehicle to control oncoming traffic, Shoults aimed to steer the horse into a parking lot or off to the side of the road during the pursuit."I was not about to watch this horse right in front of me get hit by a car, injured, die, anything of the above."The horse finally tired out after a 3-mile run and stopped when Caroline was able to get a line around her.This young girl's bravery runs deeper than just doing the right thing. She too rescued her own racehorse 'Tinkerbell' from a Kill Pen and transformed her from a horse with little to no hope to a stellar all-around racehorse. "People are thanking me so much for what I did, but in the end, I couldn't have done it without Tink."After all the chaos and a gut-wrenching adventure, Shoults was able to finish strong and take on Tink's first competition completing a fantastic run finishing third out of 19 horses in that class. 1839

A University of Florida men’s basketball player is now able to breath on his own and speak while recovering in Gainesville, according to a statement from Keyontae Johnson’s parents. Johnson collapsed on the court Saturday while playing Florida State in Tallahassee.“Keyontae is in stable condition today, breathing on his own and speaking with us and with his doctors here at UF Health,” the statement attributed to Nika and Marrecus Johnson reads. “We feel so much love and support from everyone, and we’re beyond grateful for the care and attention that Keyontae has received throughout these past several days.” 622

A student was wounded in a shooting Friday morning at a high school in Ocala, Florida, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said, shortly before students were to walk out as part of a national protest against gun violence.The student was shot in the ankle at Forest High School and transported to a hospital with a wound not considered life threatening, said Kevin Christian, Marion Public Schools spokesman. The victim is 17.A school resource officer heard a loud bang at 8:39 a.m., Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods told reporters.Three minutes later, the officer took a 19-year-old suspect -- who's not a student -- into custody without incident, Woods said.The motive is unclear for what's the 20th US school shooting this year."It's a shame what society has come to in that we even have to be here on a school campus," Woods said.
