"It was popularized under Queen Victoria during her reign in the 1830s."One of Hallmark’s senior writers, Kat Stano, says sincerity is key to crafting a good holiday card and remembering that everyone’s Christmas is different. "You want it to be honest,” said Stano. “You want to think about people’s current life situations and what they are going through."Geoff Greenleaf, one of Hallmark’s most famous artists, tries to encompass the classic American Christmas with each card he paints. "I grew up in Massachusetts,” said Greenleaf. “I just love the winter and find it’s a beautiful time of year."His paintings begin with intricate sketches."The way you can draw people in with a road or going home, there's a lot of emotion around that," Greenleaf said. INDIANAPOLIS — The driver of a tanker truck was critically injured after his truck crashed and exploded Thursday afternoon on an interstate ramp on the east side of Indianapolis.Indianapolis Fire Department public information officer Rita Reith said the tanker was hauling 4,000 gallons of jet fuel when it overturned before 2 p.m. Thursday on the ramp leading from Interstate 465 southbound to Interstate 70 eastbound. The tanker truck driver, Jeffrey Denman, 59, of Brownsburg, suffered significant burns and was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.I-70 and I-465 were closed for hours following the crash, and the ramp will be shut down while repairs are made, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.Indiana State Police reported investigators believe unsafe speed contributed to the crash.Reith said the crash split the tank and overturned the semi, causing the fire to break out. JACKSON, Miss. — A federal appeals court is keeping a block on a Mississippi law that would ban most abortions as early as six weeks — when many women may not even know they are pregnant. A panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals made the decision Thursday. The appeals judges agreed with a district court judge who blocked the six-week ban from taking effect in 2019. The only abortion clinic in Mississippi sued the state soon after the law was signed by then-Gov. Phil Bryant.
