HAWAII (KGTV) -- The United States Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 struck Hawaii Thursday afternoon.According to the USGS, the quake happened about 1:30 p.m., 11 miles south of Fern Acres on the Big Island.The earthquake was just one of hundreds of earthquakes that have swarmed the island, prompting concerns that Kilauea Volcano could erupt.The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory indicated that a volcanic eruption was possible but not imminent. Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes.The series of earthquakes came after a collapse of a crater floor of Pu?u ?ō?ō, which is a volcanic cone in the eastern rift zone of the Kīlauea Volcano.Since that collapse, about 250 earthquakes were reported in the area into Tuesday evening, according to Hawaiian Volcano Observatory status report.Check out the map below to see the area near where the earthquake hit: 931

(AP) — The Arizona Coyotes have renounced their rights to their top 2020 draft pick after learning more about his bullying of a Black classmate four years ago.The team parted ways with Mitchell Miller after taking heat for selecting him in the fourth round earlier this month despite knowing of his 2016 assault conviction.Arizona acknowledged it knew about the incident when it selected Miller.President and CEO Xavier Gutierrez said discovering more about it, and the effect it had on bullying victim Isaiah Meyer-Crothers and his family led to this decision."We have decided to renounce the rights to Mitchell Miller, effective immediately," said Gutierrez in a press release. "Prior to selecting Mitchell in the NHL Draft, we were aware that a bullying incident took place in 2016. We do not condone this type of behavior but embraced this as a teachable moment to work with Mitchell to make him accountable for his actions and provide him with an opportunity to be a leader in anti-bullying and anti-racism efforts. We have learned more about the entire matter, and more importantly, the impact it has had on Isaiah and the Meyer-Crothers family. What we learned does not align with the core values and vision for our organization and leads to our decision to renounce our draft rights. HARAHAN, La. — In Kimberly Broussard’s kitchen, there are layers upon layers of love.“I love to cook,” she said. “It's just yummy and it's full of cheese and it's gooey.”Broussard is in the midst of her new weekly tradition: making lasagna for someone she’s never met.“The thing weighs about six pounds. It’s pretty heavy,” she said.Broussard is a volunteer with Lasagna Love.“Food is love,” she said.It’s a program that began during the pandemic, in the kitchen of founder Rhiannon Menn.“I remember just feeling so helpless and watching people around me lose jobs, lose child care,” Menn said.So, the San Diego mom offered to make a meal for anyone in need in her area.“I posted to some local mom’s groups on Facebook, 'Hey, you know if you're struggling, whatever that looks like for you-- if it's financial, if it's emotional, if you're immunocompromised and can't go to the grocery store--my daughter and I are making extra meals. Like, please let us bring you dinner.' And people said yes,” she said.With that, Lasagna Love was born as people contacted Menn to ask if they could help, too. The registered nonprofit now has “Lasagna Mama and Papa” volunteers in all 50 states, with a website where you can request a meal or offer to make one.“I'm just so inspired and a little bit in awe of how many people there are that want to be part of this, spreading kindness,” Menn said.Back in Kimberly Broussard’s Louisiana kitchen, her latest lasagna will soon be ready to be dropped off to a family in need. HELENA, MT. - About 120 soldiers arrived in Helena after a year-long deployment to the Middle East.The Montana Army National Guard 1-189th General Support Aviation Battalion deployed to the Middle East in October 2019 and conducted operations throughout the Middle East like Syria and Iraq. National Guard leadership was one of the first to welcome home their soldiers.“The wind, the weather, they're coming out of Fort Hood, which is much warmer and they're stoked,” says Donald Emerson, Assistant Adjutant General for the Montana National Guard. “They're happy, doesn't matter. They're just glad to be with their families. It's great to see."In total, about 240 soldiers reunited with their families in Montana, dropping them off in airports nearest to home. The Montana National Guard dropped off their soldiers in groups of about 50 to maintain pandemic changes. Then they were led to their families, and they also received a community reunion from people outside the hangar waiting to welcome them home.“I just wanted to welcome these guys home,” says Puanani Wevers, a Helena resident. She stood outside waving an American flag as soldiers were leaving the hangar. “I mean, it's been a year that parents have, you know, not had their children home and loved ones.
