TAMPA, Fla. — Fresh Express Sunflower Crisp Chopped Salad Kits have been linked to a multi-state outbreak of E. coli, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).The CDC says at least eight people from Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota have been infected with the outbreak strain of E. coli O157:H7. While it is the same strain of E. coli carried through romaine lettuce that sickened more than 100 people in multiple states earlier this month, the CDC says it is unclear if the salad kit recall is related. The recalled salad kits do contain romaine lettuce. The affected salad has the following identifying information: UPC 0 71279 30906 4, beginning with lot code Z, and a best-before date up to and including 07DEC19. This information is printed on the front of the bag in the top right corner.</p><p>If you have any of the salad kits, the CDC says:Do not eat it.Throw it away.Even if some of the kit was eaten and no one got sick, throw the rest away.Wash and sanitize drawers or shelves in refrigerators where the salad kit was stored. Talk about bad timing.A Tesla electric police patrol car in San Francisco ran low on power at one of the worst possible times last Friday -- during a pursuit. It's unclear exactly why the 2014 Tesla Model S 85 wasn't fully charged and lost juice at such an inopportune moment, according to Fremont Police Department's spokesperson, Geneva Bosques."It happens from time to time, especially if an officer returns to the station to take a report and then they never go back out in the street," she told CNN.The police officer driving the Tesla was pursuing a suspect who was wanted in connection with a crime in Santa Clara, according to Bosques. After confirming the license plate, the officer attempted a traffic stop, the car failed to yield and the driver took off at a high rate of speed, she said."Just realized I am down to six miles of battery on the Tesla, so I may lose it here in a sec," the officer driving the Tesla said, according to Fremont Police dispatch audio obtained via Broadcastify.Other police units were following behind to assist and ultimately took over the pursuit with help from California State Highway Patrol, according to Bosques. She said the chase was called off after 10 minutes when it was deemed unsafe because of the way the suspect was driving.California State Highway Patrol later found the suspect's car abandoned in San Jose.Fremont Police said they are still in their 6 months of a pilot program testing the integration of the Tesla with the department and that they are keeping track of all the data."We have no written policy regarding gas or charging, but the general guideline is that it should at least be half full at the beginning of the shift, which this car was," Bosques said.Bosques said last week's incident doesn't change the way the department feels about the performance of the car for patrol purposes. 1867

ROMULUS, Mich. — Romulus police seized hundreds of exotics animals from an illegal collection on Thursday.According to police, it was a tip from a concerned citizen that led them to investigate. In the collection were 300 hedgehogs, six Flemish giant rabbits, three large iguanas, two kangaroos, a peacock, silver fox and a 16-foot reticulated python.Police say they have identified the person they believe was keeping the animals, and they are looking to speak with him. They did turn over all of the animals to people who could properly take care of them. 568

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Some shoe companies are doing their part to help the healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Both Allbirds and Keen Footwear have donated thousands of pairs of shoes to hospital staff and others who are needed to work during this time of crisis. Allbirds says it distributed 0,000 worth of “Wool Runners” to those in the healthcare community after announcing the free shoes last Friday. Unfortunately, the company says its pledge to provide the free shoes uncovered a need beyond what they can fulfill on their own while ensuring they balance the needs of their employees. So, Allbirds is turning to the public to help them continue to give away shoes to those protecting our communities during this difficult time. The company is now offering a “buy-one-give-one” offer in the U.S.“As of today, and while supplies last, if you purchase a pair of Allbirds in the U.S., we will also split the cost of donating a pair of Wool Runners. Or if you’d like to simply donate a pair, we’ve created an option that allows you to do that too,” 1098
