The 21st Century Combined Arms Advanced Naval Technology Exercise is currently taking place at the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific). ANTX West 2019 is roughly two weeks long and features the brightest in the military, academia and industry demoing the latest advancements to see if they are ready for the battlefield. “This isn’t a trade show - this is ‘get people together let’s go do things and see how it goes,’” said Rear Admiral Donald Gabrielson, “this is innovation.” Much of technology of the the last several years has focused on human and machine interactions with virtual reality. “We can give feedback to the industry and say this is eligible for rapid prototyping or this needs some science and technology investment,” said Richard Byers, a systems engineer with the Navy. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a 14-year-old girl is shocked by her sudden death that could be flu-related.Julianna Campos died Feb. 12, after complaining of a headache and cold-like symptoms.Imelda Leyva, Julianna’s grandmother, said Julianna went to take a nap and never woke up. Julianna didn't have any health issues, according to the family.Doctors confirmed Julianna tested positive for the flu, according to her grandmother. However, they are still investigating whether the flu was the cause of death.Julianna’s family plans to hold her funeral on March 9. Family members also started a GoFundMe page to help pay for her services.As of 8:17 p.m. Wednesday night, the fund had raised more than ,200 of its ,000 goal. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The names of a couple found dead in their Torrey Highlands home and the son accused of killing them were released by San Diego Police Wednesday. Xiaoqun Fang and Yi Cheng, both 58 years old, were due to arrive in San Francisco last Saturday. Concerned family members called police, asking for a welfare check at the home at 7405 Via Rivera. Upon arrival, police looked through a window and saw a body on the floor. Fang and Cheng had both suffered upper body trauma and were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The days of free parking at the Westfield UTC Mall are numbered and it could cost some employees. Come January 30, the mall will roll out its 'secured parking plan' aimed at keeping non-shoppers from parking on the property.Customers can park free for the first two hours and then pay per additional hour, with a daily maximum of . While the parking stations have been in place for months, some mall employees say they were blindsided to learn they too might have to pay for parking. Mall officials say employers have the option of purchasing parking passes for employees. If not purchased by the employer, individual employees may purchase the passes themselves.“It’s another bill to put on top of the rest," said one employee, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of being fired. His employer will not be purchasing parking passes for employees. The anonymous employee says they were told daily passes will cost and monthly passes will cost .“Personally it’s 0 out of my budget each year to go to work, and that’s on top of car payment and insurance," said the employee.He's concerned for mall employees who only make minimum wage and cannot afford the extra cost. While the mall is offering subsidized public transit passes, the concerned employee says that's not an option for everyone. He wishes there had been more transparency about the policy in the months leading up to January 30 roll-out.
