(KGTV and ABC) - A Pittsburgh dad who is working three jobs gave his daughter the dress of her dreams for her eighth-grade dance in a viral video.14-year-old Nevaeha Smith found a dress she loved for her eighth-grade dance at Ringgold Middle School in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, but realized that at 0, it might be too expensive."I said, 'Mom, dad, I want this dress,'" Nevaeha told ABC News. "Is it in our price range?""I looked at the price and I was like, 'Uh, not really sure, but I can see what I can do,'" said Ricky Smith, Nevaeha's father.Ricky works at McDonald’s, Popeye’s, and a Circle K convenience store to make ends meet. To earn enough for the dress, he worked extra shifts; occasionally working seven days a week.When Ricky saved enough money, he broke the news to Nevaeha's mom, Kelly Anne."She said, 'Why don’t you surprise her?'" said Ricky. Kelly Anne had her camera ready when Nevaeha stopped by McDonald’s to see her father."I was working at McDonald’s that day and I put the dress in the back," Ricky told ABC News. "She came and I brought it out and told her that her grandmother bought it for her and I told her, 'This ain’t the dress you wanted, but I hope you like it.'""I was thinking, 'This is going to be an old lady dress,'" said Nevaeha.The viral video showed Nevaeha sitting at a table as her father slowly revealed her heart’s desire. Her expression was shocked, followed by tears of joy. Nevaeha leaped out of her seat to hug her father."To see the look on her face it was priceless," said Ricky. "All I can really do was smile."Nevaeha could barely speak as she thanked her father."My heart felt like there was more love in it than there was before," said Nevaeha, describing the big moment. (KGTV) — A bill that aims to end the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in California is heading to the state Senate.Assembly Bill 2152, known as "Bella’s Act," would prohibit the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits, but still allow stores to partner with rescues and shelters for adoption events. The bill also stops pet stores from receiving any money from adoption transactions or from using the store or its resources in connection with adoption events.Assemblymember Todd Gloria, who introduced Bella's Act in February, said the bill is meant to crack down on those who got around the first attempt by the state."When we have animals in California who are still being bred and raised in unhealthy and inhumane conditions for profit, we cannot turn a blind eye," Gloria said in a release earlier this year. "Bella’s Act will fulfill our promise to end the inhumane puppy mill industry by officially prohibiting the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in California and encouraging pet retailers to partner with rescue groups and shelters. (KGTV) — An Idaho school district is investigating a school's teachers and staff after photos surfaced on social media showing them dressed as a border wall.Photos posted to Facebook showed teachers from Middleton Heights Elementary School dressed holding cardboard painted to look like a border wall, with the phrase "Make America Great Again."In another photo, staffers dressed in sombreros, ponchos, and fake mustaches.RELATED: Olympian Shaun White apologizes for offensive Halloween costumeBoth photos, posted to Middleton Heights's Facebook page, drew scorn online, forcing the school to remove the pictures, according to KTVB.Superintendent Josh Middleton posted a video to Facebook apologizing to parents and expressing his disappointment."I was shown those photos and [was] deeply troubled by the decision by our staff members to wear those costumes that are clearly insensitive and inappropriate," Middleton said. "We are better than this. We embrace all students. We have a responsibility to teach and reach all students, period."Our time right now is going to be devoted to investigating those events and those poor decisions that were made," Middleton added.It's unclear what type of disciplinary actions the teachers and staff face. He told troops at the time that "the Taliban wants to make a deal. We'll see if they want to make a deal. It's got to be a real deal, but we'll see. Bush, reads: "Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died. George H. W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens."The elder Bush served as president from 1989 to 1993, overseeing the United States' efforts in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm. Bush lost reelection in 1992, losing to Democrat Bill Clinton. Bush arguably had one of most extensive resumes before becoming president, having been a congressman, ambassador to the United Nations, envoy to China, CIA director and vice president. Before serving as president, Bush was Ronald Reagan's vice president from 1981 through 1989.
