CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The man accused of fatally stabbing a man during a road-rage dispute in the South Bay is due in court for pre-trial motions Monday. Rickey Smith, 60, is accused of stabbing 36-year-old Horace Williams to death as Williams sat in his van. According to police, the incident happened on November 27, 2018 along Sweetwater Road. Witnesses told police Smith was following Williams’ van as the two yelled at each other. Witnesses told police the maneuver caused the crash. Police say Smith then got out of his truck and stabbed Williams. (KGTV) - Chula Vista Police and Sweetwater Union High School District security personnel trained Thursday to protect South Bay schools.The 6th annual Security Work Group Training, held on L St. in Chula Vista, was held to share security measures.The event was pre-planned and not related to the Parkland school shooting in Florida Wednesday, officials said.Chula Vista Police say they work with school resource officers to monitor situation both on and off campus. "They're handling kids that bring knives, drugs, maybe have made threats," said captain Vern Sallee. "I've gotten calls at midnight on a Saturday night that somebody posted something on social media. We would rather chance down false leads all day long than have to follow up on a real lead after a tragedy."The Sweetwater district says they have one of most comprehensive training sessions in the county. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - A former San Diego psychiatrist who reportedly had offices in Chula Vista, San Ysidro, Kearny Mesa and El Cajon pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of having sexual contact with seven female patients during office visits and a misdemeanor count of sexual battery for groping an eighth woman.Leon Fajerman, 75, will be ordered to serve 365 days in custody and be required to register as a sex offender at a sentencing hearing Jan. 18.Judge Francis Devaney will consider alternatives to actual jail time, according to Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Matzger, City News Service reported.REPORT: San Diego County psychiatrist charged with sexual battery, having sex with patientFajerman -- who has been a licensed physician in California since 1978 -- voluntarily surrendered his medical license in May, state records show.In September 2017, court records showed that Fajerman assaulted three female patients, including one who said he groped her breasts and buttocks, according to the Union-Tribune.The complaints were turned in to the Medical Board of California. It's a completely online business and in 2020 sales skyrocketed,"The e-commerce side just blew up," she said.The business is rooted in Mexican tradition, which is how she describes her bags, "very traditional Mexican bag, they’re made from recycled plastic. They’re the kind of bag our grandmothers used to use for the market."Many like the fact the bag is pandemic friendly."You can wash them, Lysol it, wipe it down with a Clorox wipe, it’s easy," she said.But, her small business hit a big shipping problem."At one point I just had dozens of lost packages, throughout the system and it didn’t matter if it was UPS or USPS, it didn’t matter. Everything was just so strained," says Romero. The shipping issue strained Romero's bottom line as well."It is a struggle, you know sometimes you’re in the negative because you had to refund three packages and you haven’t sold anything that day," she said solemnly.She learned from the challenges, insuring her business so the next time a package gets lost, she doesn't get burned.She's also working around the system, driving to San Diego customers."It’s easier to make sure your local customers get their product and it’s not going to be stuck in some distribution center even though it’s five miles away in Chula Vista," Romero said.As for her dreams, the pandemic put them on pause."My biggest goal for this year was to break into the European market and go to Paris and do all these things. 2020 was like, 'not today,'" she said.She hopes to bring her artisans' work to the world and share a bit of tradition. 1777
